2015 DELTA MUSTANG INVITATIONAL MEET INFORMATION
MERV SMITH TRACK COMPLEX – STOCKTON, CA
Entries
Teams wanting to compete in this meet must register online through
www.directathletics.com
No entries via fax, e-mail, or phone will be accepted.
If you desire to enter your team into this meet, you must create a TEAM account on
www.directathletics.com.
Club entries will not be accepted. Unless competing in the Multi event.
Entry Deadlines
Late entries will not be allowed. Entries will be closed at 5pm (PST) on the dates below.

Entry Fees
Teams/individuals will pay for entry fees at the Merv Smith Track Complex at designated
packet pick up area.
Teams: $100 per gender
Multi/Individuals:$20
Teams must have payments in prior to the start of competition or that team/individual will
be scratched from the meet.
There will be no name changes the day of the meet at the Clerk!
Please fax over a contract to secure your teams spot at the meet ASAP!

Jumping and Throwing Events-For the shot put, discus, Long Jump and Triple Jump
each athlete will receive four (4) jumps or throws.
Order of Events-The Order of Events is enclosed and will aid planning of entries. We run
ahead of schedule whenever possible.
Athletes Admission- Admission to the stadium track, athletes must be wearing their
uniform, have the correct spikes, and be 30 min prior to their event.

Packets, heat sheets and results
Accepted entries start lists and heat sheets will be posted and emailed out to all
participants and participating teams
- Accepted entries will be sent 2 hours after entries are closed
- Heat sheets will be sent 2 hours after the “scratch/declaration” period
- Heat sheets will be provided in meet packets
Schedule updates will be announced if any.
Height progressions for the meets will be provided at the warm up area for the high jump
and pole vault.
Results will be posted on the top of the stands on the home stretch side of the stadium.
Results will also be posted online on directathletics.com
Merv Smith Track Complex facilities
Delta features a 400m Mondo Track located on the west side of the school (runs along
Pershing Lane). The track has nine lanes on the oval and eight lanes on the
straightaway. The facility offers separate discus, hammer, and shot put areas with
brushed cement rings and Javelin on Mondo in the Raydell Barkley Throwing Complex,
located South of the Merv Smith Complex. Long Jump/Triple jump runways are located
on the East side of the track going North and South. The runway is 220 ft in length, has
removable wooden boards, On the North East side (10 ft., 38 ft. & 44 ft) On the South
East (8 ft., 35 ft. & 40 ft). The wind direction will determine which pit will be used. Pole
Vault runways: South of the Track Running East 140 ft.
Steeple Approach: Infield approach adjacent to the 400m starts.
Men’s and Women’s locker rooms are available. Teams should furnish their own towels,
locks, and soap. Athletes are responsible for their own valuables.
The following restrictions are enforced in the Complex:
ONLY 3/16” pyramid spikes are allowed on all running and jumping surfaces.
3/16” spikes will be sold at the clerk of the course stand.
Delta College is not responsible for providing any services from our training staff to any
High School athletes. The Head Coach is responsible for all injuries that occur at the
meet. However we can provide ice and simple bandages for the athletes.
The Track and Infield will be restricted to athletes and athletic training personnel ONLY
during the meet.
NO FOOD ALLOWED ON TRACK OR INFIELD!!
Warm up areas
Participants may warm up on the backstretch during the short sprints and hurdles as well
as infield if no spikes are worn, ABSOLUTELY NO SPIKES ALLOWED ON FOOTBALL
FIELD. Throwers may only warm up in the throws area. No athletes are allowed to be
on the track during oval races.
Event Check-in
The Clerk of the Course is located at the entrance of the infield. Athletes MUST check in
30 minutes prior to the start of racing. Once an athlete has checked in, he/she is asked
to remain in the clerking area to be lined up for event when the time comes.
Implement Weigh-ins
All implements will be weighed in at the throws area up to 45 minutes prior to the start of
the event. Weigh-ins are to be done on the first day only if meet includes a Multi. All
implements are to be weighed in.
Awards: 1st place finishers in all events will receive T-shirts excluding relays.
Concessions: Concessions are scheduled to be open during this meet for your
convenience.
