Payment procedure
Students will only be considered for accommodation as long as they have no rent arrears from previous
periods in Inholland University Student Accommodation.
Every academic year has two semesters:
- 1st semester: Fall semester
- 2nd semester: Spring semester
September – end of January
February – half of July
The Servicedesk of Inholland University will provide you the exact dates of the start of the semesters.
Rent will increase annually by the minimum of the percentage in accordance with national, obligatory rent
increases in the Netherlands.
The price for the single room is around € 2.600,- for one semester. This is the maximum.
This price is including service costs (electricity, gas, water) using WiFi internet and the inventory that’s
present in the rooms.
You have to pay the full amount of the rent 2 months before you are going to the University.
We will also let you know what the exact costs of renting will be.
Check in procedure
After you have applied for accommodation you will receive a message by e-mail. You will be informed
whether a definite reservation has been made for you or whether you have been put on the waiting list.
The Servicedesk will inform you as soon as possible about which room is assigned to you. The check in
date is often fixed by the course management of the course you are going to follow.
Subletting
It is forbidden to sublet your apartment. Students found subletting will have their tenancy contract
terminated at once. It is also not allowed to live in a single room with more than one person. Violations of
such rules will lead to immediate termination of the tenancy contract.
Moving
It will not be possible to move to a different room/location during the semester. If you think you have good
reasons to move, you should write to the Servicedesk; the accommodation officer will check whether it is
possible.
Within a week you will be informed whether or not a move is possible. If you do move to another room,
you will have to sign a new contract and your old room will be inspected.
Extending your tenancy contract
If you wish to stay longer than your contract states, you should approach the Servicedesk employee as
soon as possible or at least a month before the contract expiry date. Extension can only be granted to
students with no rent arrears and only if the room is not reserved for somebody else.
If you are staying an extra semester or if you are going on placement in the Netherlands your tenancy
contract will not be automatically extended.
Please note that the term of notice will be 1 month in all circumstances.
