Do not look at the light when plugging it in or turning it on.
Do not shine it into other people’s eyes.
These LED's come with a warning from the manufacturer about permanent eye damage, and you
will know what we mean when you turn it on.
CONNECTING THE BATTERY PACK:
To connect the Battery Pack to the light head observe that the connectors are keyed so you
cannot plug them in the wrong way. Simply plug in and give a 1/4 twist to secure the
connection at the light head. Connectors will be stiff for first several uses so to disconnect you
might have to push inward while twisting until the connectors wear in. The battery pack can be
slipped into a jersey pocket or hydration pack.
OPERATIONAL MODES:
The XXX/DS and Halo all feature 4 operational modes they are as follows:
High/Low/Emergency and Flash Modes
Steady Mode- to operate the light connect battery first. Then click (short press of the button).
Light will turn on in its last mode. Click the button to alternate between low and high. To go
into emergency mode (Ultra low output) hold the button down until the light flashes and is in
emergency mode.
To turn off the light hold the button down until light goes off.
Flash Mode- Apply power to light from battery pack. Hold button down until light begins to
flash.
Choose flash pattern by clicking the button to rotate through the 6 available flash patterns.
To turn off the light hold the down button until light goes off.
Intelligent last setting memory (ILSM) is a unique feature on all Trail LED lights. For example if
you turn the light off when it was on high setting when you switch it on gain it will start on the
high setting. This is repeated for both medium and emergency settings. No need to cycle
through settings again.
LOW BATTERY INDICATOR:
Al Trail LED lights feature Low Warning indicators. The light will flash once when approximately
15 minutes of run time is available on high setting. The light will then flash once every 5
seconds for 5 times. We strongly advise to dim down to emergency setting at this time. When
the light down to about 5 minutes of runtime it will flash twice for 5 times and every time you
change modes.
Finally it will flash constantly until the battery is completely discharged and the light switches
off.
THERMAL PROTECTION:
The Trail LED range of lights, feature industry leading Thermal cooling, which enables the light
to be used with very low levels of air flow. This allows a much longer lifespan of the LED’s when
compared to our competitors. It also allows the light to maintain maximum output throughout
it’s entire run time.
The light has thermal protection which is set to 80C the light body will get very warm to the
touch if just standing still on high. If you are stopped we would highly suggest dimming the light
down both for thermal reasons and as a courtesy to anyone around you. If you don't or forget,
it will dim automatically. Once it dims it will not automatically revert to the previous brightness.
You must manually turn it back to bright after the light head cools down.
MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS:
The Trail LED lights have been designed to have a very low profile when mounted on your
helmet to avoid overhanging objects as well as keeping weight centered on your helmet to
reduce neck fatigue.
Two polyurethane bands are included for helmet mounting, suggested attaching is to thread
through a helmet vent. Orientation is not important so mounting slightly to one side does not

For mounting using the new Handle Bar mount:
In order to mount the light :
1. Clip the mount to center 4 bolt face plate of your stem
2. Place light on mount
3. Take one band go from inside fin forward around bar attaching to one or more large outside
fins
4. Repeat for other side using second band
5 adjust light

CHARGING/BATTERY:
Please Charge the battery fully prior to the lights first use.
The battery is a lithium-Ion with protection built into the pack. The charger is a smart charger,
so there is no chance of overcharging the battery, but don't just leave it attached to the charger
either (read days on end). The charge is complete when the light turns green on the charger. If
you are not going to be using the battery for over 60-90 days discharge the battery half way for
long term storage.
USE IN WET CONDITIONS:
It is water resistant so mud, snow, rain all fine. Swimming in the pool with it no guarantees
The battery is sealed in a rubberized coating so it too is very water resistant. That being said we
would try and keep it protected if possible.
WARRANTY:
All Trail LED light heads come with a lifetime warranty on workmanship and materials. All
batteries and chargers are covered by a 1 year Warranty.
Warranty does not include misuse, non standard modifications, abuse and improper mounting.
