Terms: Description: Over one year has passed since the Ms 8.0 Wenchuan Earthquake occurred on 12th May 2008. This disastrous event drew attentions of geoscientists from all-around the world not only because of the huge loss of lives and properties but also its critical role in forming Tibetan plateau. A number of research projects therefore have been recently launched to work on the geological and seismological insights of the earthquake. The conveners of this session seek the participation of scientists who has already preliminary results or only conceptual propositions on neotectonics, paleoseismology, tectonic geomorphology, seismology, and geodesy of the earthquake fault and source region.
