High School: 1955 state golf champ 1953 and 1954 Big Six Conference Medalist 1953 State junior champ 1955 – 3rd team all state in basketball and 1st team all conference College: golfed for the University of Iowa; Team was 2nd in the Big 10 in 1957 Individually finished 9th Career: Played in 4 USGA Tournaments; 2 junior tournaments in 1953 and 1955; 2 senior tournaments in 1996 and 1999. President of the Iowa Golf Association; son Tim won the 1981 state golf title; and Father golfed his age at 71. Inducted 2002. High School: Qualified for the state tournament 3 times; 2nd in the state in 1955; team captain, and most team points scored three years in a row. College: 3rd in the 1960 NCAA Division I Championships, lettered three years at ISU. Career: Champion of Midwest Region for 1960 Olympic Trials in Iowa City. One match short of final 3 at Final Olympic Trials in Ames. Named NJCAA Coach of the Yaer in 19781 and 1995. NJCAA Man of the Year in 1993. Inducted in to the NJCAA Hall of Fame in 1985. Dual record of 240 wins, 80 losses and 2 ties. Coached 54 All Americans including 9 National Champions. Coached NJCAA Championship Team in 1981, placed 2nd once and 3rd twice.
