FNW Spring Semester Extra Credit Assignment
Due Date: May 14, 2014
Using the student teaching project instructions choose one aspect of the standard below and complete the
project on this particular part of the standard. (Ex: Ms. Foster I will be completing my project on HUM-FNW5.7, so I will only focus on prevention of cancer, heart disease, obesity and common nutrient deficiencies)
You will not be presenting the project so these are points that will be automatically given to you. This project
will replace your lowest test/project grade in the grade book for the spring semester. Remember that you
must list your resources and they need to be reliable resources. You are welcome to make it creative and fun
but make sure I can understand that in your lesson plan. I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

Analyze the effects of food eating behaviors on wellness.
5.1 Compare and contrast healthy eating habits and practices.
5.2 Determine healthy strategies to gain, lose and maintain weight.
5.3 Examine traits, examples and health risks of fad diets.
5.4 Determine types and symptoms of eating disorders.
5.5 Compare and analyze financial and personal consequences from food related illnesses.
5.6 Determine strategies to lower intake of fat, sodium, caffeine and sugar.
5.7 Determine strategies to avoid/prevent cancer, heart disease, obesity, and common nutrient
deficiencies.
5.8 Examine the role of artificial sweeteners.
