Purpose of the Position:
Reporting to the Life Services Manager, the Athlete Service Coordinator will present a positive, welcoming,
helpful demeanor to create a supportive atmosphere for clients. You will be responsible for all administrative
support to Life & Athlete Services as well as some of the coordination and the delivery of programs to
registered athletes and coaches.
Frequent interruptions and a diverse workload that requires effectively managing time and conflicting priorities
characterize this position. One must demonstrate courtesy, good judgement, attention to detail and common
sense decision-making. Working 35 hours per week normally 7 hours a day, 5 days a week.
Accountabilities:
Manages own time effectively to accomplish tasks and work assignments in an accurate and timely manner.
Pleasantly and respectfully interacts with sport science members and the general public.
Qualifications:
 Knowledgeable & interest in amateur sport in Canada
 Post-secondary education in Sport related field is an asset



Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with database management (knowledge of Reference Manager)
Experience in Photoshop







Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Sound critical thinking and problem solving skills
Ability to multi-task and change focus in an atmosphere of repeated interruptions
Exceptional customer service & social skills
Flexibility & reliability
French speaking skills are an asset
Specific Accountabilities:
 First point of contact for athletes to access programs and services from the CSI
 Provide general administrative and clerical support for Life Service Manager, Performance Services
Leadership Group and President that can include mailing, scanning, faxing and copying.
 Prepares presentation packages, briefing binders and associated statistical and analytical information
in appropriate format such as graphs, flow charts and tables.
 Organize, update, and maintain tracking systems on a continual basis. Includes database, board
reports, and athlete’s lists.
 Organizes and sets up a booking system for CSI rooms and facilities for staff and clients.
 Assists with organization and administration of CSI special events. This includes setting up rooms,
A/V equipment, and meeting requirements.
 Update and maintain staff lists, email distribution lists, & employee handbook
 Effectively communicate news, opportunities, events, policies/procedures to athletes

Prepare annual Inventory report from database and ensure accuracy
Conduct CSI Facility orientation process
Issue and renew CSI facility access cards for athletes and staff
Ensure that policies and procedures specific to Life Services are kept up to date
Connect with athletes to determine needs and interest level for workshops, programs and services
Responsible for coordinating the delivery of Life Services Workshops.
Liaise with product suppliers and distribute product
Provide information regarding tuition coverage through the Athlete Assistance Program to athletes
Facilitate flow of information between provincial educational institutions and athletes
Administer and monitor Rosetta Stone Licenses for athletes and coaches
Execution of partnership agreements with facilities, clinics and yoga studios
Communicate with the Performance Services Director to know the service providers allocated to
working with each training group
Field requests for athlete presenters & negotiate speakers fee
Collaborate with a team to plan, organize, coordinate, promote, facilitate and execute special events
including community investment, fundraising as well as social and professional development
initiatives for athletes and staff
Track and showcase podium performances of CSI supported athletes from major games, world cups
and world championships. Report quarterly
Lead the hiring process and supervision of an annual practicum student when required
