2014-2015 Information Pack Prospective Predators..... Thank you for your interest in Predator Athletics!!! We hope that this information pack will answer all of your questions and help you through the forthcoming season. So what’s Predators about? Predators is open competitively to athletes aged 6 – Adults (male and female) Predators Teams are aiming to compete USASF/IASF Levels 1 through to 4. Our season is from September 2014 to July 2015. We are aiming to compete in the UK, at least, three times with each team. Predators train 2-3 times a week (depending on what team you are in) All team members must attend every session! Predators are looking for individuals that are team orientated, can expand current skills and learn new ones throughout the season. Not all teams require specific skills; for lower level teams we ask only that you are passionate, hardworking, team driven and committed! Predators members are not permitted to cheer competitively on other teams (Exception: School Teams, University teams. However we must be made aware of this and reserve the right to disallow if competitions/training conflict). Predators are not just a team. We are a family. Commitment and teamwork count for a lot! These guidelines aim to “level the playing field” for competitive cheer, ensuring that athletes compete against others within their age-group and skill level. We feel as a programme that it is important to follow these guidelines to ensure the best experience of all our athletes. For more information on the United States All Star Federation/International All Star Federation, please visit: www.usasf.net • Predator Cheerleaders reserve the right to set our own AGE MINIMUMS for members and TEAM LEVELS entered at each competition. • Athletes will first be placed within their age group. Athletes that are eligible (please see crossover eligibility) have the opportunity to tryout to crossover to another team on the programme as well as their age appropriate team. • Where possible athletes will not fly in more than one team as we wish to give as many girls as possible that opportunity. *Please bear in mind that crossovers are a privilege not a right* • Age for the season is determined by the Athlete’s age AS OF 31 AUGUST, 2014. Athletes will not be expected to stunt or tumble if ill and or injured. We require all athletes to attend sessions to encourage; full commitment, team work, and peer support. Furthermore important routine choreography changes are often made and this ensures they do not miss anything vital. Injury’s and Fees Below is our policy on fee reductions and injury’s: If an athlete is injured at a predators practice or competition and has to take a month or more off of full training as a result; they are entitled to half fees for the duration of the injury. If an athlete is injured outside of a predators practice or competition they are not eligible for fee reductions whilst they are out of full trianing from injury. Injuries and competitions: all athletes are expected to attend competitions to support their team if they are out from injury. If a replacement for their spot can be found they will then be charged for a spectator ticket and any excess paid for entries will be carried forward for future fees. If a replacement cannot be found they are eligible for full competition fees as we will not be refunded by the competition company. If an athlete is injured at a competition fees are non-refundable. Injured Athlete Expectations All of our injured athletes are expected to attend training sessions and join in with as much of the conditioning aspect’s that their injury will allow. They are expected to participate in mark throughs and choreography changes, if their injury allows. During stunt and tumble practice they are expected to work on injury rehabilitation, fitness and conditioning. This is to ensure athletes fitness levels are maintained, their strength is improved (to aid in injury prevention) and their recovery is as swift as possible. All injured athletes have access to our in-house trainee sports therapist, Jess Stockwell. She can help with rehabilitation exercises; advice on injury recovery and prevention, and can strap injury’s to support the injury through the rehabilitation process and to help prevent reoccurrence.
