GROUP 3 TRAINING RUNS FOR OCTOBER Every Tuesday night there is the alternative to do road circuits with Brian. Thursday 1st – Run Leader – Chris Kirkbride 7.0 miles – Holywell Green back via Long Wall Left out of Harriers, down Huddersfield Road, to mini roundabout and onto Stainland Road, through West Vale to Station Road at Holywell Green. Down Station Road towards Elland, on Victoria Road past Brooksbank School. Left at Jepson Lane to Long Wall. Down to West Vale lights back to Harriers on Stainland Road and Huddersfield Road. Tuesday 6th 6:00pm - Halifax Harriers Club AGM @7:30pm Run Leader – Chris Kirkbride 4.5 miles plus Hill Reps Hill Reps – Left out of Spring Hall and down to Stafford Avenue and then run to Kensington Road. Hill reps on Albert Promanade. After reps continue up Albert Promanade to Fire Station, down to Pye Nest and on Edwards Road. More hill reps on Gainest (time permitting). Then back up Wakefield Gate and Skircoat Moor Road to Spring Hall. Thursday 8th – Run Leader – Chris Kirkbride 7.2 miles - Exley via West Vale Cross the road from Spring Hall and go up Heath Road and left onto Skircoat Green Road. Onto Dudwell Lane and back down to Salterhebble Hill. Run onto West Vale traffic lights. Up Rochdale Road and down Elland Bridge. At Barge and Barrel go through Tunnel and then up Exley Lane through Siddal, Turn right at Water Lane and go past Nestles to Matalan. Up Church Street and past the Shay back to Spring Hall. Tuesday 13th – Run Leader – Sarah Kidd 7.2 Miles - Ovenden From Spring Hall turn right go through town past the bowling alley towards North Bridge. Turn right down onto Old Lane. Continue to the end then turn right on Keighley Road. Continue all the way to Morrisons then turn left down Cousin Lane. Continue to the end (to the mini roundabouts) then turn right down Denfield Lane. turn right on Wheatley Road, back through town to Spring Hall. Thursday 15th – Run Leader – Chris Kirkbride 7.1 miles - Tuel Lane and back on Wakefield Road Up to King Cross via Manor Heath Road, on Burnley Road to Tuel Lane. Down Tuel Lane, left through Sowerby Bridge. Turn right along Wakefield road, at the end turn right up onto Huddersfield Road and back to Spring Hall. Sunday 18th – Majorca Half Marathon Tuesday 20th – Run Leader – Sarah Kidd 7 miles - Northowram From Spring Hall turn right go through town past the bowling alley towards North Bridge. Over North Bridge and along Godley Road, Halifax Road past Stump Cross pub and all the way up to The Bar 22. Left Left onto Lydgate and circle round Northowram and come back out opposite The Victoria pub. Back down main road through town to Spring Hall. Thursday 22nd – Run Leader – Sarah Kidd 7.7 miles - Warley From Spring Hall turn right, past Tescos to Kings Cross. Turn left onto Burnley Road, turn right up Blackwall Lane, on Water Hill Lane, left onto Winterburn Lane, right onto Newland Road, onto Roils Head Road, along Gibbet Street and turn right down Warley Road to Kings Cross, back down Dryclough Lane, turn left back to Spring Hall. Tuesday 27th – Run Leader – Sarah Kidd 6 miles – Warley Road Left out of Harriers onto Stafford Avenue. Turn right up the side of Savile Park to the Fire Station. Up Warley Road to the top (where it comes to Gibbet Street). Turn left down Stocks Lane and left down Windle Royd Lane to Burnley Road. Cross Burnley Road and run on Willowfield until get to Rochdale Road. Down Pye Nest and left on Edwards Road. Left up the cobbled steep Wakefield Gate and back down the side of Savile Park (with the park to the left), down Dryclough Lane and back on Huddersfield Road to Spring Hall. Thursday 29th – Run Leader – Sarah Kidd 7.1 miles - Southowram From Spring Hall turn right go through town past the bowling alley towards North Bridge. Turn right onto Beacon Road. At the top turn right onto Law Lane, down to Siddal, right through Siddal. Turn right to go round the back of Nestle, back onto the main road turn right back to Spring Hall. Sunday 1st November – Derwentwater 10m race
