Installation of Screens, Fences, Barriers and Pipelines
Short description of project:
The Government of Kosovo has received funds from the EU and the Government of the
Federal Republic of Germany through KfW Development Bank (KfW) towards the cost of the
project: “WATER SUPPLY AND SEWAGE DISPOSAL PRISHTINA PHASE II” (BMZ N°: 2009
65 749) and it intends to apply part of this grant to payments under this contract.
Project activities:
The works under this contract is subdivided in two Lots as follows and consist of:
Lot 1:
1. Intake Protection and Fencing at the Water Resources by installation of about 960 m of
Concrete Barriers (partly with Fence) at Lake Badovc und Batllava, construction of
Meshwire Fences at 11 Wells at Fushe Kosovo, construction of 6 Screens inside Rivers
at Lake Batllava and Badovc
2. Replacement and Installation of new Distribution Network within Fushe Kosova 1 Area
with a total length of about 18.7 km (with OD ¾” to OD 630, all HDPE PE 100 RC, PN
10) including installation of11 Hydrants and 750 house/service connections with water
meter
3. Replacement and Installation of new Distribution Network within Fushe Kosova 2 Area
with a total length ofabout 18.2 km (with OD ¾” to OD 400, all HDPE PE 100 RC, PN 10)
including installation of 12 Hydrants, 783 house/service connections with water meter
Lot 2:
4. Replacement and installation of new Distribution Network within Muhagjeret Area with a
total length of about 13.1 km (with OD ¾” to OD 450, all HDPE PE 100 RC, PN 10)
including installation of 8 Hydrants, 650 house/service connections with water meter
5. Replacement and installation of new Distribution Network within Sunny Hill Area with a
total length of about 9.2 km (with OD ¾” to OD 250, all HDPE PE 100 RC, PN 10)
including installation of 10 Hydrants, 583 house/service connections with water meter
6. Replacement of AC Pipe and installation of a new Feeder Main, OD 500 HDPE PE 100
RC, SDR 17 (PN 10) from Mirdtira Reservoir to Dodona with a total length of 894 m
including interconnecting with existing network and construction of ARV, Wash-out and
one Bulk Water Meter.
7. Replacement of Steel Pipe and installation of a new Feeder Main, OD 560, HDPE PE
100 RC, SDR 17 (PN 10) from Shkabaj Reservoir to Obiliq with a total length of 3210 m
including construction of ARV and Wash-out and one Bulk Water Meter.
8. Optional: Installation of 16 Bulk Water Meters including Chambers and associated
Fittings and Valves at various locations within Service Area of RWCP
Tendering will be conducted through international competitive tendering procedures and in
accordance with KfW Guidelines: “Procurement of Supply and Work Contracts under the
Financial Cooperation with Developing Countries”, May 2007.
Minimum requirements for Bidders:
RWC Prishtina hereby invites International and Local Bidders to implement the works with the
following minimum requirements:

Details and evidence of the Bidder that he has successfully completed or substantially
completed at least 2 Contracts with not less than 2 Million EUR on installation of Hydromechanical Equipment for Water Supply or 1 Contract with not less than 4 Million EUR
for general construction work of similar nature to the current Contract under FIDIC Red
Book conditions within the last 5 years;

The Bidder shall demonstrate that he has access to, or has available, liquidity assets of
0.5 Million EURO, unencumbered real assets, lines of credit, and other financial means;

Evidence that the Bidder has generated an average annual construction/ production
turnover during the last 3 years greater than 9 Million EURO.
Bid Security:
Each Bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Security of 50.000 EUR (fifty thousand EUR) valid
for 90 days after the submission dead line of bids.
Closing date:
Bidders have to be submitted their Bids latest until 14.03.2013, 13:00 hours local time at
the office of the Regional Water Company:

Procurement of Bidding Documents:
Bidding Documents can be collected from RWC starting from January, 29th 2013 for a nonrefundable fee of 300.00 Euro (three hundred EUR). Only Bidders which purchased the
Bidding Documents may utilize the documents for bidding.
The language of the Bidding Documents and Proposals shall be English
