The Riverside County Sheriff’s Canine Team, in union with the Riverside Sheriff’s Association, is
hosting its 20th Annual Police Canine Competition and Public Safety Fair on Saturday, November 7th,
2015 from 8 am to 4 pm. This trial will have police service dogs and their handlers from throughout
California, and other western states, competing while families, friends, and community members watch.
The public safety fair will have displays from the Riverside Sheriff’s Department, California Department
of Forestry, fingerprinting, and more.
In a world of ever increasing technology advances, the police service dog has remained irreplaceable!
They are constantly being challenged with new tasks and usually exceed our expectations with their
performances. Business and Community Groups in Southern California are being contacted in hopes
of gaining support through donations and the purchase of advertising space in the Canine Trial
Program.
Police Canine Competitions serve as an incentive to the handlers to show how well their canine partners
can perform. This in turn promotes community support for local canine teams, your support will allow
us the chance to share the abilities of our partners and demonstrate how teaming with “man’s best
friend” is so beneficial to the communities we protect and serve.
We are anticipating local as well as various agencies within the Inland Empire for newspaper and
television coverage. We are currently soliciting and anticipating local radio coverage, broadcasting live
from the event. Last year approximately 1000 people attended the event. With the additional coverage
and word of mouth, we are expecting the turnout to exceed the previous amount.
We are looking for cash donations and raffle prizes to assist us in the cost of these trials. All donations
are tax deductible and 100% of the donation goes directly to the K9 team. For information regarding
