I apply for admission to the doctorate in accordance with

previously completed course or
Magister certificate in a course at a university or equivalent higher education institution or
Diploma certificate in a course at a university or equivalent higher education institution or
Certificate for the First Public Examination for the teaching profession at the upper level of general
education schools or Certificate for the First State Law Examination or Certificate for the First Theological
Examination

IX. APPENDICES
In accordance with § 4, paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Doctorate Regulations, I attach the following
appendices to this application:
 The certificates required in Parts IV and V of this application, i.e.
o a certified copy of the degree that entitles the holder to begin a doctorate. (If the
certificate is in a language other than German or English, a certified translation in
German or English must be provided. In this case, a copy of the degree certificate shall
suffice);
o if necessary, a certificate showing proof of the required language skills;
o if admission is applied for according to § 3, paragraph 3, a document from the
Anabin system for the recognition and evaluation of qualifications obtained at
foreign universities shall be required, proving that the degree is of equal value to a
degree obtained from a German university; the Anabin document is not required if the
degree in question is a Bologna MA backed up by a Diploma Supplement.
 A CV and a list of publications, if available.
 An exposé: outline of the objectives and methods of the dissertation proposal, incl. work and
time schedule.
 A supervision agreement from a professor or habilitated member of the Faculty of Humanities
who represents the planned subject of the doctorate (if necessary, incl. a report on whether the
course is “relevant” or that the “qualification guarantees ...”).
 An enrolment certificate can be retrospectively issued within a time period set by the doctoral
committee.
