Cat Adoption Application
Thank you for your interest in adopting a cat from Brooklyn Animal Action! It is our policy to make
certain that each person who adopts a cat is aware of the life-long responsibilities of pet
guardianship and is capable of accepting these responsibilities financially and emotionally.
This application is designed to:
1. Help you and your family determine if you’re truly ready for a feline companion;
2. Help BAA ensure a safe and loving home for every cat in our care; and
3. Prevent animal returns/surrenders.
Please fill out this questionnaire and return to BrooklynAnimalAction@gmail.com. Please note that
applying does not ensure approval of adoption.

animals. Cats mostly respond to “deterrent” training. If you would like information on how
to train a cat to not jump on counters, scratch things, exhibit inappropriately aggressive play
behavior with your hands, or anything else, please consult BROOKLYN ANIMAL ACTION and
we will happily direct you to the proper resource.

SIGNATURE AND PROPOSED ADOPTION TIMELINE
Applicant’s Confirmation: The answers to the above questions are true to the best of my knowledge.
In addition, I agree to spay/neuter the animal within the time frame given to me at the time of
adoption, barring medical restrictions. I will not give the animal, or otherwise transfer the animal to
another party without notifying Brooklyn Animal Action and giving them first right of refusal. If the
animal is ever lost, I will contact the independent rescuer first and then Brooklyn Animal Action
second immediately to assist me in losing the lost animal. I realize that failure to comply with the
adoption contract and the above stipulations may result in confiscation of the adopted animal. The
individual rescuer reserves the right to inspect the animal’s disposition when deemed necessary.
