Haven Hills provides safety and support to victims of domestic violence while working to break the cycle
of abuse. We offer shelter, crisis intervention, counseling, advocacy, and activities supporting increased
economic opportunity to victims primarily in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. We endeavor to
increase community awareness about domestic violence issues and bringing about societal change
through education and public policy advocacy.
Over the past 36 years, Haven Hills has assisted over 600,000 people, helping them rebuild their lives

The Haven Hills Crisis Line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is always staffed by counselors
who have completed 40-hour state-mandated domestic violence training.

Since 1980, the WRC Domestic Violence Shelter has provided safe, temporary housing for women and
their children who have been victimized by domestic violence, sexual violence, and stalking. Residents
receive individual and group support, DV education, advocacy, information and referral on housing, job
training, legal aid and financial assistance. They also benefit from the understanding and support of the
staff and other residents.

Callers receive confidential crisis intervention, referrals, and information about sexual violence, at any
hour of the day or night, 365 days a year.
YWCA- Oklahoma City, OK
The YWCA provides the only shelter for battered women and children in Oklahoma County. Ours is an
emergency shelter, providing help in obtaining legal services, transportation, housing information,
medical care, child care and advocacy services for up to two months. Clients attend domestic violence
education and support groups during their stay. Our Child Advocates offer education and support to
help children avoid further victimization, verbalize feelings, learn appropriate ways to express emotions
and understand what is occurring in their families.
Our shelter is a safe place for women and children to escape domestic violence. Open 24-hours/7days a
week, the shelter provides immediate, emergency shelter and supplemental services to more than 350
women and children every year.

Domestic Violence Intervention Services, Inc. - Tulsa, OK
Domestic Violence Intervention Services, Inc. (DVIS)/Call Rape, a Tulsa Area United Way agency, is the
only nonprofit agency in Tulsa, Okla., and the surrounding communities to provide comprehensive

Salvation Army Center for Women & Children - Austin, TX
Austin Shelter for Women and Children (ASWC) is an emergency shelter program for homeless women
and their children which is funded by the City of Austin and operated by The Salvation Army. The shelter
has a capacity of 60 beds (54 women with children and six single women).
Applicants are accepted on a first call first serve basis, and the center maintains a call-back list. The
ASWC strives to provide wrap-around services (case management, child/family therapy, employment
assistance, life skills training and child care) in an effort to help clients move from crisis to stability.

Forbes House - Cleveland, OH
As Lake County's only Domestic Violence Shelter, Forbes House opened for battered women and their
children in 1980. Grants from the Lake County Mental Health Board, Western Reserve Junior Service
League, and the Forbes Foundation paid for the renovations of the home.
In 1989, with the assistance of the Lake County Commissioners, Forbes House received HUD funds for
the purchase and renovation of its current building. On April 16, 1990 Forbes House moved to the new
shelter. As a result, we were able to increase our capacity from 17 residents to 30 residents.

Women's Haven of Tarrant County - Fort Worth, TX
Established through the 2006 merger of The Women’s Shelter and Women’s Haven, Safe Haven’s
shelters have served domestic violence victims in Fort Worth, Arlington and the surrounding areas for
almost four decades. As the oldest and largest Tarrant County organization providing free services and
programs to domestic violence victims, Safe Haven helps women rebuild their lives and move from fear
to freedom. With two 24 hour emergency shelters, counseling, legal services, children’s programs and
more, Safe Haven provides the only shelters in Tarrant County specifically for victims of domestic
violence. But more than that, through our outreach, education, support and prevention efforts, we are
making progress to end domestic violence.
In 2012, Safe Haven answered 47,768 hotline calls; sheltered 1,088 abused women and 1,355 children
providing 159,798 meals; 106,532 snacks; housed 102 clients through Safe Living, and educated over
39,800 students and community members on domestic violence and shelter services.

Women Called Moses - Fort Worth, TX
Women Called Moses was created to be an underground railroad for victims of domestic violence. We
seek to prevent and end the cycle of violence against women. We accomplish this through education
and advocacy services provided to individuals, families, and community agencies throughout the United
States of America.
We address the despair of hopelessness and fear that victims experience of all ages and backgrounds
face who are in crisis situations. It is through our agency that victims find their voice that will help them
to determine their future.
