Give direction and supervision of the vice mayors league-Cebu Chapter;

ii. Be the presiding officer of the Sangguniang Bayan and sign all warrants drawn on the municipal treasury for all expenditures appropriated for the operation of the

Sangguniang Bayan;

iii Subject to the Civil service laws, rules, and regulations, appoint all officials and employees of the Sangguniang Bayan, except those whose manner of appointment is specially provided in the Local Government Code;

iv Assume the office of the municipal mayor for the unexpired term of the latter in the event of permanent vacancy as provided for in Section 44, Book 1 of the Local Government

Code;

v. Exercise the power and perform the duties and functions of the municipal mayor in cases of vacancy as provided for in Section 46, Book 1 of the Local Government Code; and

vi. Exercise such powers and perform such other duties and functions as may be prescribed by laws or ordinances.

Islands on which committed to continue to advocate the global campaign for disaster risk reduction in Cebu province and other neighboring provinces.

Municipal recognitions and achievements support in Hyogo Framework of Action to achieve the

Millennium Goals Development a.Building resilience built by Purok System Approach

Health Program (co-project with Plan International)

 2007 & 2008 Pabasa sa Nutrisyon Outstanding Award” in recognition of its achievement in the implementation of the Pabasa sa Nutrisyon. The award was given during the Philippine Association of Nutrition, (PAN) Inc. 62nd Annual convention held last July 16-17, 2009. This program in addressing the malnutrition and other health problems are being conducted by the Health Ambassadors in the Purok Hall. b. Environmental Management and Protection

Environmental Protection for Fishery Resources (co-project with MAC)

 “Third World Certified in Collection Area Management Plan” passed the IMS Standard for Environmental Fishery Management Standard a co-project of Marine Aquarium

Council.-2005. The award was given by Laurie de Freese of USAID on August 27, 2005 at

Alfredo A. Arquillano, Sr Memorial Gymnasium.

PART IV: Proposal for the use of the award money

The award money is used to support the Two Million Trees Project of the Local

Government of San Francisco (see attached separate document project proposal). The

USD50,000 (estimate equivalent of Php2,200,00 (Philippine Peso) will help in the implementation of the Two Million Trees project on which prioritizing the families that have less income and a member of a certain purok to participate in the collection of wildling

(native trees seedling). The main objective is to a have a source of income while participating the trees growing and seeds collection but accommodate only the out of school youth and less fortunate families in the purok that is considered as the vulnerable member in the Purok.

This project is being supervised by the Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management

Office as part of the mitigation activities in addressing global warming.
