ANNOUNCEMENTS for January 25, 2015 Welcome to Saint Aidan’s!! Whether you are a first-time visitor, a lifelong Episcopalian, or just curious about the Church, we are blessed by your presence, and we wish to get to know you after worship and tell you more about our parish activities and outreach. Thank you!! Annual Meeting Today: The parish will hold its Annual Meeting today, after the 10 am worship. Thanks to all who helped with our breakfast brunch prior to worship this morning. At the meeting we will elect new members to the Vestry for three-year terms; the candidates are Barb Belt, Bob Brunner, and Jackie Scott. Jim Poe, who completed a year of another term, is also running for Vestry. We will also present reports regarding parochial activities during the past year. There will be a breakfast brunch before the meeting in Sifers Hall. Please submit your ministry reports to the office for inclusion in the Annual Report pronto. The Bishop is Coming on Feb. 15: Bishop Wolfe is making an Episcopal visit to St. Aidan’s on Sunday, Feb. 15. During his visit, the Bishop will meet with the Vestry, and be available to all parishioners at a reception. During worship, the Bishop will confirm, receive, and recognize the reaffirmation of Baptismal Vows of parishioners. Confirmation and reception classes will meet at noon on February 1 and 8. Please see Fr. Shawn or Doreen Rice for more information. Episcopal Church Year Guide Kalendars: We have received our 2015 Church “Kalendars” – they are available for the low, low price of only a measly $5.00 each; all proceeds go to support the community meals at the Center of Grace here in Olathe. Hurry: they’re almost gone! Name Tags: We have made name tags and placed them on the stand in the narthex. If you haven’t had a chance to make your own name tag, please see Janet Seifert. If you have a name tag, please wear it proudly!! Neighborhood Food Pantry at St. Paul’s in Kansas City, Ks: Please contribute to the Food Pantry by filling a grocery bag and placing it in the large basket in Outreach Center next to the Narthex. The pantry needs spaghetti sauce, ravioli, beefaroni, coffee, cooking oil, and bathroom tissue. Please see Rob Coultis or Kathie Kleeman for more information. Prayers: If you would like someone remembered in the Prayers of the People in the Announcements, please let Fr. Shawn know; thanks. You can contact him by email, telephone, or give him a handwritten note, but you are probably better off not just telling him, because he will forget. This Week at Saint Aidan’s . . .
