Full Time students only and commencing studies in 2015/16
This scholarship is targeted at students resident in the Highland
and Moray regions only
Students registered on online courses are not eligible
The scholarship will be open to students entering the first year ie
HNC of an undergraduate degree programme in following
subjects:
(a) BA Accounting & Finance
(b) BA Business and Management (students will be required to
undertake the Finance elective core modules)
The scholarship is designed to provide a helping hand to students
experiencing financial barriers. Please note this is not a hardship
fund – students seeking this form of support should submit an
application for discretionary funding

STATEMENT OF SUPPORT:
Please write a 500 word statement of support. Your statement should make a case for what you can bring to
the University of the Highlands and Islands in addition to your academic capabilities and what makes you a
suitable scholarship candidate. Please explain why you have chosen your subject area and your aspirations
for the future. Please explain how an undergraduate scholarship will address any financial challenges and
how it will impact on your university experience (please note this is not a hardship fund and students to
apply via other route). Please provide a concise but accurate description of your financial circumstances and
any factors you consider relevant. Remember this is a competitive process so make your application stands
out.

REFERENCE LETTER:
As all of our scholarships are, in part, awarded on the basis of academic achievement/potential, we need a
reference from your school or college providing details of your academic performance (and predicted
grades if you have not yet completed your course). If you are not currently attending school or college, you
can provide a reference from your employer or a person of status who knows you well.
You may choose one of the following options:
Attach a copy of the reference from my UCAS application in support of my scholarship application.
Attach a new reference in support of your scholarship application. You must do this if no predicted
grades were supplied by your reference on your UCAS application. Your application cannot be
considered without information on your predicted grades.
