General Rules, Requirements, and
Information: This show is open to all
registered Shetlands, Show Ponies, and
Miniature Horses currently registered with
the ASPC/AMHR/ASPR who meet
sanctioned class requirements. Nonrated
classes are open to all equine meeting class
requirements. This show is sanctioned by
the ASPC/AMHR and by entering, all
exhibitors agree to abide by the current
rules and regulations. Owners, agents,
exhibitors will refrain from any act
committed or remark made in connection
with the competition considered offensive
and/or made with intent to influence or cast
aspersions on the character or integrity of
the judging. Owners, agents, and exhibitors
may not approach the judges without the
express permission of the official steward.
The Show Manager, Show Committee, and
Steward reserve the right to arbitrarily settle
all matters, questions, and differences
incidental to this show so long as said
decision is in accordance with the by-laws
and show rules of the ASPC/AMHR/ASPR.
Show Management reserves the right to
remove any horse owner, agent, stable
representative, trainer, groom, or exhibitors
from the grounds for inappropriate behavior
without being held liable for compensation.
Entry Requirements:
To enter a sanctioned class copies of
current registration papers, any required
membership cards, current measurement
cards and appropriate fees must
accompany a completed and signed entry
form. To enter. Checks or Money Orders
should be paid to the MCSBA. Entries are
due by May 18th. Email entries are
accepted by due date to avoid late fees
but a COMPLETE hardcopy MUST be
mailed ASAP. An email entry will receive a
confirmation by return email. If you send by
email and do not receive a confirmation
please call. All information must be
provided. Entries received after deadline or
are incomplete will be accessed late fees.
Classes may be added when entered at
least one division ahead for entered
horses/ponies with no late fee.
Camping Reservations:
Camping permits will be provided for paid
camping and are required to be displayed
on the camping vehicle. Electrical hook ups
must be reserved.
Facility policy requires that if you hook
up you will be charged.
Restaurant and lunch stand:
Located on the grounds. Many nearby.
Check In and Measurement:
Stalls available Friday and reserved stalls
will be labeled on the stall chart. Preshow check in available at in the show office
at 12 PM Friday. Measurement begins
Friday at 5 pm to 8 pm and throughout the
show as needed. If you will be arriving
early or late please indicate on the entry
form. If you need to stay over until
Monday please indicate that on the entry
form. All extra days must be
prearranged.
Youth Requirements:
It is required that all ASPC AMHR youth
participating in all riding classes wear an
approved SEI helmet. No penalty will be
assessed if used for other classes. Youth
must provide copies of their youth
membership cards to earn points
Amateur Requirements:
Any person entering an amateur class must
provide a copy of their current Amateur card
in order to participate. A card may be
purchased from the steward upon proof of
current membership and payment of
appropriate fees. AMHR classes have
Amateur/Owner relationship requirements.

Health Papers:
Out of state horses require a 30 day health
certificate and a current Negative Coggins
Holds are a MAXIMUM of 7 minutes and
may be made at ringside for speed and
convenience.
Gate and Tack Holds will be timed.
Refund Policy:
No class or stall refunds will be given
without a veterinarian’s written statement
and review by the Show Committee.
Refunds will be mailed. Exhibitors may “sell”
extra stalls to other exhibitors by private
treaty.
Stalls:
Per facility policy ANY stall used must be
paid for. Do not store or groom in a stall if
you do not wish to pay for it. The facility
requires the purchase of 2 bags of shavings
per stall. Please use the entry form to
indicate if you wish to be stalled with
someone or in a particular area. We will try
to accommodate requests on a first come
basis. Stalls available at show rate starting
Friday @ 12 PM CHECK IN UNTIL SUNDAY
EVENING @ 11 PM. Early or late MUST be
PREARRANGED.
Add/Scratch/Transfer Class /Gate Hold
Policy:
Adds and Scratches must be recorded with
the show secretary before the division
starts. Transfers of classes will not incur late
fees and will be considered a “wash”.
Change of handler in Amateur classes must
meet all Amateur participation requirements.
Exhibitors are encouraged to have the
equipment and/or equine in the warm up
area to reduce tack change delays. You
MUST let the gate person know your needs.
Gate Policy:
In order to keep the show moving the TWOMINUTE Gate Policy will be observed.
Timing will begin when the first horse enters
the gate. If you need a gate hold please
have your next entry ready to go into the
arena and the 2 minute gate will work for all
exhibitors.
Two Minute Gate: We will use the Two
Minute Gate Policy. Gate holds must be
given to the Gate Person and Secretary at
least three classes prior to the requested
gate hold for the class. If you know you
need a tack change based on your class
schedule please let us know ASAP! Tack
Shavings:
Outside bedding is not permitted for
bedding. Each stall requires the purchase of
2 bags of shavings. Shavings may be
purchased with your entries. If you wish to
order more shavings at the facility you must
pay the secretary and receive a shavings
voucher to present to the facilities
representative.
Youth Best Groomed:
These classes are nonrated classes that
give the youth the opportunity to
demonstrate their grooming ability. The
youth are to bring in their clean mare or
gelding and the equipment and products to
make them show ready. No adult helper
allowed to groom. Age 7 & younger may
have an adult accompany them as a safety
measure. No coaching!!!
All dogs MUST be confined or on a leash at
ALL times. At no time will excessive barking
or running loose be tolerated. No dogs are
to be left in stalls!! All dogs must be current
with Iowa health requirements.
Pretty Head Class:
This class is designed to highlight the
elegant head of the Classic Shetland.
Ponies are to enter the show ring wearing a
sheet or blanket to expose only the head
and neck. The designated judge will select
the pony with the most beautiful head.
Arena & Facilities: The show will be held in
a spacious indoor arena. Weather will not
be a problem!!!
Stalls: Stalls are $45.00 for the entire show
weekend payable to MCSBA. Any stall used
MUST be reserved and paid for!! 2 bags of
shavings per horse stall required purchase.
Trainers/Grooms Class
Restricted to Trainers and Grooms Only.
One Trainer or Groom from each farm is
required to participate to show their unique
abilities. A broom is required for this
competition. NO ENTRY FEE.
Youth Best Groomed Classes
This class is restricted to youth exhibitors.
Youth are to bring their favorite horse or
pony to demonstrate their grooming ability.

Vendor Policy:
Anyone selling merchandise on the
premises or out of stalls is subject to vendor
requirements and must make arrangements
with the show facility.
