LOCKER FACILITIES
Please note that all students are given a locker at the start of the year. Students should ensure
that they provide this locker with a padlock. The padlock should be larger than a luggage or ‘cash
box’ padlock (approx. 5 cm square padlock is ideal). The key-type padlock should have at least two
keys. One key to be kept by the student and one key to be held as a spare by the form tutor. If
the padlock is lost or broken, parents will need to replace it.
Lockers are to be used to store pupil possessions for the day. Pupils are also to store their PE kit in
their locker when they arrive in the morning and take it home at night; girls should ensure they
arrive in plenty of time to achieve this. Girls are not to use their locker for permanent book and
file storage; they must store books and files at home and bring to school what they need for the
day. Items and kit bags are not to be stored in form rooms for the day.
Girls bringing any items into school do so at their own risk and should ensure they keep these
items safe – they are given lockers to help them in this. Any smaller, valuable items that need to
be brought into School (i.e. cash) may be handed in immediately to the Pupil Reception for safe
keeping if necessary.
As we provide lockers for each student, we will not take responsibility for any items which are
mislaid or lost.
Any letters brought into school for trips, revision guides or anything else should be handed into
Pupil Reception.
All personal items, uniform and PE kit must be clearly named (order forms for name tapes are
available from the School Uniform Shop). All school equipment (i.e. dictionaries, pencil cases etc.)
and footwear must also be clearly named. If items are clearly named, mislaid and lost items can
more easily be returned to their owner.
