March on Timbers Lane, just North of Timbers

directions – north and southbound.
Over the 7 day period, a daily average of 511
vehicles travelled south along the road and 512
travelled north, with 449 (south) and 455 (north)
travelling between 7am and 7pm. The weekend
days were noticeably quieter with just under 300

The good news is that the vast majority of the
people travelling through Nuffield respect the
30mph speed limit. Over the 7 days of the
monitoring, between 6am and 6pm the average

The fast traffic was travelling in the early hours
of the morning with averages between 31mph
and 40.4mph between midnight and 4am.
There’s a tendency for the traffic to travel a little
faster in the southbound rather than the
northbound direction.
Unfortunately, as on all roads, there were some
road users who exceeded the speed limit.
Throughout the whole week, we had 3 vehicles
travelling between 51-56mph and no one
NUFFIELD CHURCH
As you know, the church in Nuffield is in need of funds to keep it, and the churchyard, in good repair.
The next fund raising event is the Nuffield Extravaganza on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June. As well
as raising funds for the church, the event promises to be a nice day out and a chance to catch up with
others from the village and surrounds.

Mini Fete at the Church. Stalls include a raffle, tombola, bric-a-brac and a home-made

CAR BOOT SALE - AUGUST
Also in aid of Church funds, there will be a car boot sale in August. The sale will be held on the field at
the Huntercombe officers’ carpark. Watch out for further details and start collecting your unwanted bits
and bobs for the sale.
CROWN PUB
Keep an eye on the website
www.crownnuffield.co.uk for information.
The Crown Pub is doing well. Under the capable
hands of Sam and Richard, the pub is open for
bar visitors and diners from Tuesday to Saturday
for lunch and dinner and on Sundays for lunch.
The menu is delicious and there is entertainment
laid on, too. On Wednesday 19th June there’s a
folk music evening from 8.30pm and on Friday
21st June there’s a hog roast and several local
bands playing.
