Over the 7 day period, a daily average of 511 vehicles travelled south along the road and 512 travelled north, with 449 (south) and 455 (north) travelling between 7am and 7pm. There’s a tendency for the traffic to travel a little faster in the southbound rather than the northbound direction. Unfortunately, as on all roads, there were some road users who exceeded the speed limit. Throughout the whole week, we had 3 vehicles travelling between 51-56mph and no one NUFFIELD CHURCH As you know, the church in Nuffield is in need of funds to keep it, and the churchyard, in good repair. The next fund raising event is the Nuffield Extravaganza on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June. As well as raising funds for the church, the event promises to be a nice day out and a chance to catch up with others from the village and surrounds. NUFFIELD EXTRAVAGANZA SATURDAY 29th JUNE Mini Fete at the Church. Stalls include a raffle, tombola, bric-a-brac and a home-made cake stall. There will be a barbeque from 12 noon to 2pm and cream teas served from 2pm. Flower display in the Church Open Gardens – a chance to wander round and enjoy some of the gardens in the village SUNDAY 30th JUNE Flower display in the Church Open Gardens CAR BOOT SALE - AUGUST Also in aid of Church funds, there will be a car boot sale in August. The sale will be held on the field at the Huntercombe officers’ carpark. Watch out for further details and start collecting your unwanted bits and bobs for the sale. CROWN PUB Keep an eye on the website www.crownnuffield.co.uk for information. The Crown Pub is doing well. Under the capable hands of Sam and Richard, the pub is open for bar visitors and diners from Tuesday to Saturday for lunch and dinner and on Sundays for lunch. The menu is delicious and there is entertainment laid on, too. On Wednesday 19th June there’s a folk music evening from 8.30pm and on Friday 21st June there’s a hog roast and several local bands playing.
