Scene one:
A lady in a black suit steps to the court room, walks up to the side of the witness stand to
speak to the gray-haired man on the witness stand wearing a business suit named James
Tate.
Judge Brown calmly says to the lady in the black suit ,” Ask what you need to, but go easy
because he is not mentally stable to answer detailed questions.
Lady in black suit: “Certainly.”
Judge Brown: “Go ahead.”
Lady in black suit: “Mr. Tate, where were you the night of the 25th of june?”
James Tate: “ I was home watching a movie and eating take out with my girlfriend.”
Lady in black suit: “Okay, So what were you and you girlfriend watching?”
Judge Brown: “Where are you getting at with this?”
Lady in black suit: “ Judge brown, I’d like to see how much he remembers from the night his
girlfriend went missing, starting off with the movie he clams to of seen with the missing
girlfriend.”
Judge Brown: “ Continue but keep the questions simple, Mr. Tate, answers the question.”
James Tate (nervously): “Well….Uhmm… I believe it was “The Notebook”.”
*Lady in black suit studies over a piece of paper by the plaintiffs stand*….
Lady in black suit walks back to the witness stand: “Wrong! The notebook has not aired on
TV since last month!”
*James Tate continues to face forward, the lady in black suit looks over at him, studying
him with an intimidating look.*
*James Tate body language becomes irritated. He looks at the lady in the suit.*
James Tate: (forcefully) “Why are we still asking me questions? It was my girlfriend that’s
missing! We show be looking for the real criminal, not me!”
Judge Brown: (loudly) “ ANOTHER OUT BURST LIKE THIS AND YOUR OUT!”
Lady in black suit: (softy) “Mr. Tate, everyone is a suspect until they are cleared. Now can
you please go through happen the night once more?”
James Tate: Like I’ve told everyone for the twentieth time, She came over with takeout
Chinese food, then we picked a movie on the TV, I fell asleep and I woke up and she was
gone but her purse and keys were still on the table so I knew something was wrong.”
Lady in black suit: “ Is there anyone that would want to hurt her or yourself?”
James Tate: (sadly) “No… Not that I know of. Im just so worried about her.”
Lady in black suit: “ Well Mr. James could-“
Judge Brown: “ Lunch break, Court will be moved to this afternoon. Court is dismissed!”
*(Judge hits his gavel)KNOCK KNOCK*
*LATER THAT AFTER NOON*
Judge Brown enters the court room, the bailiff says "All rise".
Judge Brown sat down and called the lady in black suit to the stand…
Lady in black suit (curiously): “Yes Judge?”
Judge Brown: There has been a change in the case.. The missing lady is now found. He
supervisor let us know she was in the FBI undercover.””
Lady in black suit:“Why didn’t James Tate not know she was in FBI?”
Judge Brown (quietly): “Because the mission was Mr. Tate… He is being watched for
trafficking drugs.”
Lady in black suit: “Okay Judge, I understand.”
Judge Brown says out loud to the courtroom: “There has been new evidence in the
case, in which the case has been classified as a miss trail”
Judge Brown:“Court is dismissed!”
*(Judge hits his gavel) KNOCK KNOCK*
