Donation Dollars

As an alumnae mom, you are always a part of the Maggie’s Place family.

Therefore, we have adapted an “earn while you learn” program for your benefit!

Now, instead of just volunteering in the homes to get donations, you can receive “money” to use towards donations by coming to Maggie’s Place events and classes, and activities! You can either spend your donation dollars as you receive them OR you can save them up for a larger purchase. It’s your choice!

Each time you receive donation dollars, it will be YOUR responsibility to keep track of them (in the same way that you keep track of real money).

How can you earn dollars to use towards donations?

Tuesday Night Speakers: $25/class

Moms Series: $10/class OR $75/series

Maggie’s Place Events: $15/event

Using the resource center: $10/hour

Volunteering at the homes: $5/hour

Updating your contact info: $5

The Cost of Donations (in Donation Dollars):

Large Furniture

Small furniture, TV

Crib, stroller, car seat, bassinet, swing/bouncer, Luggage

$25

Lamps, dishes, silverware, pots and other housewares, bedding

$10

Clothes (2 adult outfits, 5 baby outfits), 1 pack of diapers, 1 can of formula, purses, backpacks

$5

Medicine, toiletries, baby wipes, make-up, hair accessories, toys, books

General Rules/Donations Process:

*If you would like something that is not on this list, please contact Amanda, the

Director of Program Activities, to determine the cost in donation dollars.

*All large donation items will be coordinated through the Director of Program

Activities.

*You will be responsible for your own transportation and pick up of items and must provide at least a 24 hour notice for pickup.

*If you would like to receive a large item that needs to be picked up, you will need to have the required amount of donation dollars before picking up the item(s)

*You may exchange diapers and clothes for a different size, provided that the house needs the items you are exchanging. No other exchange of items is permitted.

* If you would like to attend a Tuesday Night Speaker, or a Work Saturday, please contact Amanda at least 24 hours in advance to schedule. Babysitting outside of

Maggie’s Place must be arranged.

*If you would like to work at one of the homes, please contact the Director of

Donations at least 24 hours in advance to set up a time to work for hours. While doing your hours please keep in mind that if you act in a manner that is not in accord with

Maggie’s Place rules and standards, you may be asked by a corps member to leave.

Please arrange for babysitting while you are doing your hours.

*Please contact Teresa, the Director of Program Support Services moms regarding bus passes, scholarships, and loans.
