Tuesday 25th February: Going to the Graduate Fair? (International Careers Insight Session).

Graduate Fairs in the UK may be different to those run in your home country. Fairs can be
organised by theme or can cover a variety of businesses and organisations. In Scotland, there are
two major Graduate Fairs held every year, in March and October. This year the Spring Graduate
Fair will be held on 5 March 2014 in Glasgow University Union.
This session will help you to:

Prepare for Graduate Fairs
Develop the networking skills you need to impress at a fair
Talk confidently to employers
Find out dates and locations of fairs

(International Careers Insight Session),

and we are holding a one off information session, not to be missed! Come along and find out

The European Union Institutions offer an international career to ambitious and capable

There is a significant under-representation of UK nationals working in the EU institutions. The UK
Government, and EPSO (the European Selection Office), are working together to promote the

This session will cover a variety of topics including how to apply, the different types of careers
available, benefits and also other options such as internships. The talk will also highlight the
support the UK government can offer. This will include how to use the network of Brits in the EU
Institutions as a tool in preparation for the competitions as well as other useful hints and tips.

Wednesday 5th March: Spring Graduate Recruitment Fair,
Glasgow University Union, University Avenue, 10am—5pm
This event is being hosted by the University of Glasgow on behalf of all the four Glasgow university
Careers Services (GCU, Strathclyde, Glasgow and West of Scotland).
Open to all 3rd and final year students at GCU, there will be many employers in attendance offering
not only graduate opportunities, but also internship s and work experience. Entry is free, so make
sure that you don’t miss out on the great opportunity to meet and network with some of the UK’s

A summer internship at BAE Systems will give you a 12-week (30 June 2014 - 19 September 2014)
insight into working life in one of their UK businesses and further develop your skills. These
internships are delivered in partnership with Semta (the Sector Skills Council for Science,
Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies), whereby Semta will employ you and BAE Systems
will provide you on-the-job training within a structured framework.
Benefits



Starting salary of £16,800 (pro-rata)
6.5 days holiday (for the 12 week internship)
Individuals who demonstrate outstanding performance on the internship will not have to
complete all the stages of the recruitment process should they wish to join us.
What You’ll Need

To join our Summer Internship scheme you must be available for the 12 weeks (though are
entitled to 6.5 days of leave) and on course to achieve at least a 2:1 Bachelors degree. This
can be in any subject for our business or finance opportunities and must be in an
engineering, numerical or scientific subject for our engineering placements. For our finance
internships, you also need 280 UCAS points.

UK Power Networks Graduate Programme – recruiting now from Engineering and Business

UK Power Networks, one of the UK’s 14 Distribution Network Operators in London and the South
East of England, is currently recruiting for their engineering and business graduate programmes
for the September 2014 intake.
