DATES FOR YOUR DIARY
Parents Evening
Monday 9th March – Appointment letters have been sent out
If you have not
already returned your child’s pupil progress book, would you please do so to enable the class teacher to complete
the details for this term.
Inset Day
Friday 20th March – There will be NO staff on site all day – Offsite training.
ABSENCE
PLEASE ENSURE THAT IF YOUR CHILD IS ILL YOU CONTACT THE SCHOOL BEFORE 9.30AM,
FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN THE ABSENCE BEING RECORDED AS UNAUTHORISED.
CLASS NEWSLETTER
You should have received your class newsletter informing you of the homework to be carried out for this half term. If
you have not received this please see your child’s class teacher.
EASTER COMPETITION
This term’s project will be to design an Easter Egg. The egg can be either 2D or 3D. This term we will be awarding an
Easter Egg to the winner of each year group. The competition entries will need to be brought into school on Thursday
2nd April with the winner being chosen that day and prizes awarded in a special Assembly at 2.30pm.
SCHOOL MEALS
May we remind parents that school meals should be paid for in advance on a Monday or at the beginning of each half
term. Failure to pay on time could have a direct impact on your child’s education, as the money that should be used to
pay for classroom resources is having to pay for dinner arrears.
Also, can parents ensure that dinner money is bought into school in an envelope or purse/wallet clearly marked with
your child’s name, as we are not allowed to accept loose cash at the office. Children are also asked to bring in their
own dinner money to give in to their class teacher, as this encourages a little independence.
Dinner menus should also be returned by Friday morning registration, if your child does not bring in their menu
they will still get a school lunch, however, they will not get their first choice of meal or drink.
BREAKFAST IN SCHOOL
As you are aware we serve toast/crumpet/tea cake with a choice of either fruit juice or milk each day.
The children who are in receipt of free school meals are also entitled to breakfast this excludes universal
free school meals available to all children in Reception, Year 1 and year 2). However, 1 toast/1/2
crumpet or tea cake with a drink – making a maximum allowance of 55p per day, if your child would like
more this will be charged - additional rounds of toast will be charged at 25p, crumpets/tea cakes at 30p,
juice at 25p and milk at 20p.
Please ensure that your child brings to school their breakfast money with them at the beginning of each week or each
day, as if the child forgets their money for several days, they lose track of how much they need to bring in.
CAKE SALE
We will be holding a cake sale after school on Thursday 19 th March from 3.15pm. The cakes are being
baked by one of our students, Archer, in Reception, who would like to raise £24.00 in order to sponsor a
child, less fortunate than himself, to go to school. Please help support Archer reach his target.
CLASS 2
From w.c 2nd March Class 2 spelling test will be on a Tuesday not a Friday.
PE IN SCHOOL
