What does each service do?
Blood Pressure
Blood pressure testing is carried on out on both arms
Lung Health Check Lung function is measured using a simple, painless test which involves breathing into a machine that calculates how much air you can expel from your lungs . The results are explained and given on a personalised graph along with advice and information on how to look after your lungs, whether it is by stopping smoking or just by encouraging early detection of problems.

Stop Smoking Service
You’ll sit down with an experienced stop smoking advisor to decide the kind of support you want. Your
Alcohol Harm Reduction Team advisor will help you decide a quit date that you’re happy with and discuss a range of stop smoking medicines which may help. Getting
Provide information about safe/sensible drinking levels. With more and more of the population drinking alcohol at home it is easy to have that extra glass or two without realising the harm caused. help and advice from the friendly expert team will make you up to four times more likely to quit for good.
To help reduce this harm the team provide, free of charge, a
`modr8` drinking beaker with measure lines and unit information. They provide the latest information about how alcohol affects the body.
They also inform people about the services available in Blackpool and treat any concerns/discussions with total confidentiality.

Sexual Health Chlamydia is the most common bacterial sexually transmitted infection the UK.
One in fourteen under 25’s test positive. The service is a free and confidential. The test is simple, painless and totally voluntary. It is a urine sample test (pee in a pot).
Aim
Our main aim is to improve the health and wellbeing of Blackpool residents, raising awareness of coronary heart disease, stroke and angina and identifying individuals at risk.
We aim to achieve this by gathering information relating to blood pressure, smoking, body mass index and physical activity levels and helping individuals to take appropriate action to maintain or improve their health.

It takes around 5-10 minutes with each service
Is it confidential?
Yes all the information is completely confidential. If consent is given and you are a
Blackpool resident we can pass details of your health check on to your surgery for their records.
If I attend an event do I have to see all the services?
No. You can access as little or many services as you like; however, it would be beneficial to access as many as you can.
