The Department of Chemistry at Vanderbilt University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level for Fall 2015. We seek candidates who will establish an externally funded and internationally recognized research program in the area of inorganic catalysis, broadly defined (e.g. biocatalysis, homogeneous or heterogeneous catalysis, photocatalysis, green chemistry,). It is expected that the candidate will be able to participate in one or more of Vanderbilt’s transinstitutional initiatives, all of which provide additional core infrastructure that facilitate interdisciplinary and collaborative research and education. The successful candidate will teach in the undergraduate and graduate programs in the Department of Chemistry. A Ph.D. in chemistry or a closely related discipline, with a distinguished academic record, is required. Interested individuals should send the following application materials to the Chair of the Search Committee (cheminorgsearch@vanderbilt.edu) in one electronic file (PDF format): Curriculum vitae, a statement of proposed research, a statement of teaching philosophy and interests at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and the names of three references. The candidate should arrange for letters to be sent directly to the search committee chair. Screening of the applications will begin October 15, 2014. Women and underrepresented minorities are strongly encouraged to apply. Vanderbilt University is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity employer.
