Varsity celebrates over 53,000 graduands The University of Nairobi held its 54rd graduation ceremony on 4th December, 2015 at the institution’s graduation square. The ceremony saw more than 5300 graduands conferred with various degrees and diplomas. The event that was graced by UoN Chancellor Vijoo Rattansi, UoN Council Chairman Idle Farah, Vice Chancellor Prof. Peter Mbithi, Deputy Vice Chancellors and leadership, and faculty members who were all dressed for the occasion. During the event, Laikipia Senator Godfrey Gitahi Kariuki, popularly known as G.G Kariuki was conferred with a Doctor of Philosophy (Phd) degree in International Studies. Today’s ceremony was the second to be presided over by VC Prof. Mbithi, who took over from Prof. George Magoha in January, 2015. The graduation featured graduands from the Colleges of Humanities and Social Sciences and the College of Health Sciences.
