The Niagara Soccer Association is calling a mandatory
Special General Meeting
to be held on
Sunday July 19th
at the
Best Western Hotel and Conference Centre
2 N Service Rd, St Catharines, ON L2N 4G9
from 9:00am -11:00am.
Failure to have a representative present will result in a $100 fine.
The only Items that will be discussed and voted on are:


Item a) Membership Application - Futbol Niagara
Item b) Membership Application - Niagara Elite College Showcase Program

Item c) Constitution Change: NSA Constitution , Article 6 Board of Directors:
We are requesting the Secretary/Treasurer position to be split into two positions
* The secretary position is to be split from the previous joint Secretary/Treasurer position and
will require a constitutional change to also be conducted at the SGM prior to the commencement
of the elections.
The rational for the 18 month term is to balance all future NSA Board Elections.
Thus in all odd numbered years, President, Secretary and 2 Director at Large Positions open
and in even numbered years, Vice-President, Treasurer, and 2 Director at Large positions open.

Item d) Election of officers on the following vacant positions;

Please note:
For the Board Positions, there will be no nominations from the floor accepted. Instead each
member club may submit candidates for each position to be received in the NSA office
by email only no later than July 10th at 5pm

ARTICLE 6: Board of Directors
The District Association shall be governed by a Board of Directors which shall consist of at least seven (7) individuals, or such number not to be less
than five (5), as may be amended from time to time in accordance with the District Association’s By-Laws.
REQUEST TO AMEND TO: at least eight (8) individuals
The individuals shall hold the position of:
President
Vice President
Secretary/Treasurer
Four (4) Directors at Large*
REQUEST TO AMEND TO: two positions 1. Secretary
2. Treasurer
The positions may be (but not limited to):
Director of Player and Referee Development
Director of Youth Soccer
Director of Senior Soccer
Director of Indoor Soccer
Directors of Discipline and Appeals
Any other Director position(s) specified by the District Association
A Director may hold more than one position.
A Director shall be eighteen (18) years of age and shall not be an undisclosed bankrupt.
A Director shall serve for a term of two years or until his or her successor is elected or appointed. The positions of President and two Directors at
Large shall be held in odd numbered years; the positions of Vice-president, Secretary/Treasurer and two Directors at Large shall be held in even
numbered years.

Rational :
Workload of the Treasurer has increased along with a balanced board turnover at each AGM
