1 Washington Park Directions for IDT
Parking
All other visitors may park at the IDT Corporate Parking Garage, 2032 Atlantic St., Newark, NJ 07102 or any other pay by the hour lot
around the building (there are several). There is also metered parking on
the street. Please note that Rutgers will not reimburse your
parking fee. See Google Map to locate. Students park in lot 509, and
faculty and staff park in lot 506. See campus map to locate these lots.

Walking Directions from the IDT Parking Garage to 1
Washington Park
As you come out of the lot walk back to Bridge St. and turn left heading
back to Broad St. Cross over Broad and you will see Rutgers Business
School (1 Washington Park) in front of you. The main entrance has a silver
awning and has glass doors.
Visitor Directions to 1 Washington Park From New Jersey
Turnpike or Route 95 (North or South)
Take exit 15W to Route 280 - West. After drawbridge, take
Exit 14B (ML King Blvd.).
At bottom of the exit ramp, turn right and continue to 1st
traffic light
Make sharp right turn onto University Avenue
Proceed to 4th traffic signal and make a left turn onto Central
Avenue
Proceed 1 block and make a left turn at traffic light onto
Washington Street
Proceed on Washington Street to 3rd traffic signal
(Washington changes to Bridge Street after crossing Broad St.)
Make a right turn at traffic signal onto Atlantic Street and the
IDT Parking Garage will be on the left.
Visitor Directions to 1 Washington Park From Garden State
Parkway (North or South)
Take exit 145 to Route 280 East, Newark-Harrison.
Once on Route 280, stay in the right lane, following signs for
Harrison.
Continue to Exit 14, King Blvd. Take this exit and make a right
at the 1st light onto King Blvd (ML King Jr. Blvd.).
Proceed to 3rd traffic signal and make a left turn onto Central
Avenue.
Proceed to 2nd traffic signal and make a left turn onto
Washington Street
Proceed on Washington Street to 3rd traffic signal
(Washington changes to Bridge Street after crossing Broad St.)
Make a right turn at traffic signal onto Atlantic Street and the
IDT Parking Garage will be on the left.
By Public Transportation
Train
NJ Transit and PATH trains go to Newark Penn Station and Broad
Street Station.
From Penn Station - The Newark Light Rail connects Penn Station to
the Broad Street Station. There are two options for taking
the Light Rail to the Museum:
1) Take the Light Rail to the Broad Street Stop. Next, transfer to
the Light Rail that takes you to the Washington Park stop. The
Museum is located across the Park on Washington Street.
(or)
2) Take the Light Rail to the Atlantic Street Stop. Exit to your
right. Walk past the parking garage on your left toward
Lombardy Street. Make a right onto Lombardy Street. Walk
toward Broad Street and cross over to Washington Park. The
Museum is located across the Park on Washington Street.
Note: The Light Rail operates every 10 minutes during rush hour,
every 15 minutes during non-peak hours and every 30 minutes
on weekends and major holidays.

NJ Transit buses go to Newark Penn Station.

From Broad St. Station–#13 or #27 to Broad St./Washington Pl.
(Walk 2 blocks along park to Museum).

Parking
Attended on-site parking, provided by Central Parking, an
independent operator, is available (for a nominal fee) in the Museum
parking lot, with entrances located at Washington St. and Central
Ave.
NOTE: Visitors may be required to leave their car keys with
the Parking Attendants.

Additional parking for special events is available in the Blue Cross/Blue
Shield Parking Lot ( University Ave. and James St. ) or the Edison
Parking Lots ( Central Ave. between Washington and Broad St .). Call
