Missouri Emergency Medical Services for Children
EMS Instructor Scholarship Program
The Missouri EMS for Children Grant has budgeted funds to facilitate Education and Training for EMS
professionals from across the state to receive EMS Instructor status. This effort will increase the
number of individuals in all parts of the state, especially rural underserved areas, who will be able to
develop and present all types of EMS educational offerings but particularly pediatric related content.
This sustainable program will benefit EMS for many years to come and increase the number and quality
of Pediatric Educational programs while increasing the number of EMS clinicians receiving Pediatric
education.
Missouri EMSC will award a Scholarship toward the cost of EMS Instructor training to 10 individuals
annually for the period of the current EMSC Grant. The maximum dollar amount of each individual
scholarship will be $380.00 and will be awarded and paid on a reimbursement basis. Individuals who
receive the scholarship will be responsible for obtaining the training, successfully completing such, and
providing proof of completion along with a request or invoice for reimbursement. EMS Instructor
training may be in the form of classroom education or via a web based program. All EMS Instructor
Scholarship submission will be approved by the EMSC Advisory Committee and the Bureau of EMS
(Grant Administrators) only if the EMS Instructor training is a recognized program such as the National
EMS Educators Association EMS Instructor Course.
Steps to obtain the EMS Instructor Scholarship are as follows;
1. Complete the EMS Instructor Scholarship Application; attach your current CV and 2 letters
of recommendation.
2. Forward your application to the Regional EMS Committee for your area.
3. Once selected, choose the EMS Instructor training program, location, dates etc and forward
that to the EMSC Advisory Committee member in your Region and the EMSC Grant
Manager for review and approval.

your Regional EMSC Advisory Committee member. If your agency paid for your program
