Graduate Consultants are required to develop a range of skills to operate effectively. The position is responsible for providing a variety of professional services and Graduate support in the delivery of Industrial Relations services to clients. Key responsibilities Technical Support • • • • • • • Provide effective Graduate-level support in employee relations matters. Understand and interpret State and Federal legislation, Awards and other complex legal documents. Provide useful advice to clients under supervision. Prepare and draft written advice Draft correspondence Analysis of workplace employee relations issues Undertake: o Modern Award enquiries o Consent and non-contentious advocacy o Draft Enterprise Bargaining Agreements, Contracts, Policies and Procedures under supervision. Client Management • • • • • • • Provide good customer service Provide support to other professional staff in the delivery of Industrial Relations services Principal contact for Modern Award clients Respond to client queries in a timely and effective manner Work as an effective team member on projects Responsible for elements of file under supervision Achieve budget and KPI’s Business Administration • Follow the Quality Manual and provide suggestions for improvement • Follow and contribute to Knowledge Management procedures • Contribute to product development and maintenance under supervision, eg: o Website development and maintenance o Modern Award Wage sheet maintenance o Precedent development and maintenance o Preparing presentations and training programs under supervision o Development and presentation of training material Our ref: Document1 Position Description Graduate Consultant - Prepared by Livingstones 2 Business Development • Develop client base • Identify opportunities for new business from existing clients • Develop network of contacts o Prepare and deliver presentations for clients and prospective clients under supervision o Build relationships with existing clients, eg: o Prepare newsletter articles o Accompany Consultants to new business meetings o Cross sell IR/HR/OD o Convert IRS clients to consultancy clients Professional Development • • • • Implement agreed professional development plan Undertake significant on the job training Attend internal training sessions Undertake continuing professional development, eg: o Undertake Livingstones’ training courses o Complete Livingstones’ Graduate Training Program o Accompany Consultants to client meetings Reporting relationships A Graduate Consultant will report to their Team Leader/s and work in a collegial relationship within their team. Qualifications Degree or near Degree or relevant experience.
