Substantiate your answer .
Importantly two models are explained:
1.Structural Model
2.Process Model
This model views conflict as the internal dynamics between two or more parties.
(10 marks)
The stages in this model are:
1.Frustration : This will arise when one party perceives that other party interferes in
needs, wants and goals
Factors precipitating the condition for conflicts are: Communication, structure and
personal variables
2.Conceptualization
3.Behaviour
4.Interaction
5.Outcome
2.Structural model identifies the parameters so that the conflict arises:
Behavioural Predispositions (motives, abilities and personality)
Social pressure(cultural values, organizational pressure, work groups norms and
interest)
Incentive structure (reality which give rise to conflict such as the interest/
competitiveness)
Rules and procedures( decision making rules, regulations, procedures, arbitration which
shape the behaviour of conflicting parties)
