MSc Summer Project Placements should be aimed at MSc students on the High Performance
Computing and/or High Performance Computing with Data Science programmes. The placements must
take place in Summer 2016. Companies can work with EPCC to develop these projects. For more

Internships and Industrial Projects can take place at any time that suits the company, although
students may prefer to undertake internships during the summer. All PhD, MSc and final-year
undergraduate students of the following subjects will be eligible to apply: Informatics, Physics (including
High Performance Computing), Engineering, Mathematics, Multidisciplinary CDTs. However, internships
should be aimed primarily at PhD students. For more information on internships and these types of

2. At the Event
Would you like to give a pitch about your company and the opportunities you can offer to students?
There will be time for 3 - 4 minutes per company; the exact time will be confirmed. You are welcome to
present slides.
Pitches should outline the opportunities you can offer to students, and the knowledge and skills that you are
looking for. We would advise that you also include a brief introduction to your company and its research,
products and challenges that are most relevant to research areas of the CDT PPar (parallelism, concurrency
and distribution) and/or the EPCC MSc programmes (high performance computing).

There will be space for 10 tables; these will be allocated to the industry partners who request them first.
Company booths can be used to display promotional materials (e.g. brochures, branded tablecloths and
freebies) and conduct informal, short ‘interviews’ of students. Each industry partner can bring one pull-up
banner, whether or not they have a company booth.

3. Proposal for an MSc Summer Project Placement
This section should only be completed if you can offer a Project Placement, in Summer 2016, to MSc students in High
Performance Computing and High Performance Computing with Data Science. The project should be relevant to
these research areas.
In mid-November 2015 to mid-December 2015, MSc students on the above programmes will submit their project
preferences to EPCC staff, and interviews will be arranged with companies.
