AGM Meeting Closed 9.06pm Minute taker: Colleen Falls [Secretary] President’s Report to members WA Practice Nurses Association Inc AGM 18th August 2014 It has been another very busy and productive year for the WAPNA. WAPNA continues and is becoming even more recognised by other professional organisations including APNA and many pharmaceutical and medical representatives. This is noticeable with the increased number of referrals to WAPNA from other groups etc for information. These enquiries are in relation to information about ongoing professional development, training opportunities, work related issues and requests to distribute information from other organisations to our networks. There has been increased interest from contacts wishing to look at opportunities to present information/education to WAPNA members. Various members continue to be invited to participate in working groups with Medicare Locals, Health Department, Rural Health West, UWA and Health Networks etc. Many thanks to our supportive committee members and other newer WAPNA members who have assisted at our education events and Seminars. Also, for administrative support with mail outs etc. Rosemarie Winsor President 18th August 2014 EDUCATION LIAISON OFFICER’S REPORT FOR AGM 18th August 2014 SEMINARS and MONTHLY MEETINGS: These education events continue to be well attended. Without the support of other members this task would be a lot more difficult to manage. I therefore would like to thank everyone who continues to help at all these educational events. Future topics are always based on the requests from evaluations forms received at our events. NEWSLETTERS Quarterly newsletters feedback has been positive from other groups as well. Feedback from members is very positive. Organisations and persons who submit articles, all receive copies of the newsletter for themselves and to distribute to other departments they may work with. It is becoming increasingly more difficult to obtain articles for our quarterly editions, therefore I will be suggesting we print tri annual newsletters at our August business meeting. GENERAL WAPNA’s profile is increasing, which is a positive reflection that we are continuing to achieve our goals as a support for nurses working in diverse situations in the community.
