Sentence Journal Explanation Maria Theresa Putri In this sentence journal visualization, I listed out all 32 of the sentences that I randomly wrote since the beginning of semester until now. My concept is creating a series of pictures of the words that I arrange in Adobe Photoshop. Although they may look similar they’re different. I changed the opacity of the words according to the relevancy of it to me in that day. So for instance, if that sentence is strongly related to me on that day then it would be in 100% opacity. But, when it’s something that totally random like: the dog ate, which is totally irrelevant to me that day then the opacity would be lower (probably 20%). Thus, that’s how the sentences vary. Also, I’ve been doing this for 4 days, so that each day the sentences that may be relevant to me would be different. After I did all 4, I look back and compare them to see if there’s any sentence that’s relevant to me in all four days. Turn out there are couple of sentences that keeps on appearing in 100% opacity; such as: craving for sweet, I want this semester to be over, etc. This shows my mood for the past few days. I’ve been stressed out with all the finals and whenever I’m stress I would always craved for something sweets. Furthermore, I change the composition by arranging the sentences differently every time. There’s no real concept in this method, I just moved them wherever I want each time. All of them turned out to look scattered all over the place. Probably it’s also because of the stress that I tend to look at things messy. Nonetheless, it’s a fun project and also it’s interesting to see how many random sentences that actually relevant to my life at the moment.
