Welcome- Adrian Aleem, East
 Adrian welcomed career staff members to the meeting. He noted that he has been representing CSA while attending the president/ dean meetings and will be our liaison for the year.
2.
Guest Speaker – Dr. Stacy Johnson, East Campus and Winter Park Campus President
 Dr. Johnson provided a career staff members a handout regarding her topic,
“Leadership Lessons Learned Along the Way,” included valuable lessons such as mentoring, furthering your individual education and self-reflection. Dr. Johnson ended the discussion with a thought-provoking quote: “Leadership is a lifelong quest to develop the mind, body and spirit in greater ways that enable you to do good work in the world helping others.”

. She encouraged CSA leaders to include the deans in the upcoming CSA meeting information.
 She also spoke about the College’s plans to increase service to students in film, sound and music technology in the East Campus’ new building, efforts to improve and enhance safety planning on campus and that former City of
Orlando police chief, Paul Rooney, will be leading safety and security measures throughout Valencia as the assistant vice president, safety/security and risk management.
 Dr. Johnson graciously provided light refreshments for this meeting.

Reading Circle Series
 All members were urged to attend CSA’s next meeting on Tuesday April 22, 2014, from 1 – 2 p.m., where Valencia College President Sandy Shugart will support launching East Campus CSA’s Reading Circles series, beginning with the “Listening” chapter in his book, “Leadership in the Crucible of Work.”
East Campus staff members are encouraged to participate in the Reading Circle series.
