Application for funding
Please submit this application and a copy of your most recent transcript (printed from ROSI is
fine) to the graduate associate chair/coordinator of your department/program. Check with your
graduate coordinator for the internal deadline. Application must be submitted by graduate
chairs, coordinators or administrators via e-mail to fas.internationalprograms@utoronto.ca no
later than November 3, 2015 for the first round, or March 3, 2016 for the second round.
Funding will not be provided for languages that are offered at U of T, but are not offered at a
particular time, e.g. summer. Priority will be given to students at the Ph.D. level. Students at the
Master level may be considered if they can show that they will be enrolled in a Ph.D. program in
the University of Toronto. Please use a common 12-point font.

- Identify the language to be studied (including specific variety and level of competency).
- Describe your plans for language study, including the location, the nature of the training (tutorial,
classes, etc.), and the frequency and duration of the training (hours/week, total number of weeks).
Justify the appropriateness of the training venue.
- Include a brochure or short description of the program, if available.
- Indicate any previous training in the language and/or knowledge of the language or other related
languages.
