Course length: 1 year
Entry requirements:
NVQ Level 2 Beauty Therapy or equivalent, 4 GCSE’s including English and basic computer
skills are necessary. Students form other centres are welcome to complete this course if they
are under 19 years.
Course summary:
This programme develops your skills whilst giving you the new skills needed to develop your
career further.
NVQ Level 3 Beauty Therapy is made up of 6 units:






Provide body massage
Provide Indian head massage
Carry out massage using pre-blended aromatherapy oils
Provide hot stone massage
Contribute to the financial effectiveness of the business
Provide self-tanning services
In each unit you will perform practical skills, submit course work tasks and sit tests.
Additional materials:
A list of beauty equipment and uniform will also be issued to you to purchase before the course
to help you practice your skills learnt in lesson & home.
Further learning and career options:
Progression onto full time salon placement as a beauty therapist, mobile beautician, selfemployment, cruise ships, TV or theatre work is possible.
