Jade: Good afternoon, hope you’re all having a good day! This is Headspace on SirenFM, it’s a new
show brought to you by students from the Lincoln school of film and media. That’s us.
Every week we pick a topic or theme and spend an hour exploring it. We’re Second years being
assessed and our tutors are watching.
So stay tuned for everything from tattoos to escapism but this week its 90s nostalgia.

I’m your presenter Jade, I was born in 1995 and my most vivid memory of that era was listening to the
Spice Girls Movie which….anecdote.
Callum: And I’m Callum ..I was a baby born in 1994…my best memory from the 90s is Robbie Williams,
driving round in my parents car a Panda, with the windows open listening to Angels…
and Today’s show is on… about the 90s, how we remember it, best memories and what made it such a
memorable decade..

We have Chris Wade and Kelly Borkertas, ..two friends who set up a 90s tribute band, they travel
the UK who do gigs and parties coverings 90s dance…. They have a gig not too far from Lincoln on Sat
15th Nov 8 til late - it’s a 90s Party Night at Harpers Bar, Horncastle Community Centre and only £7

Also Paul Tyler, a programme maker on siren FM; presenting monthly book reviews right here, he
remembers the 90s and was really into Britpop…. (1:30)..
Matt Brown…he’s a DJ based in Lincolnshire and has been dj-ing since the early 90s, he fills
dancefloors with music from that decade.

find out what sweets were big 20 years ago.

Callum: Now one of the most famous bands of the nineties, formed in 1991, English rock band Oasis
with their 1995 hit Wonderwall. Trivia about wonderwall…described by the writer Noel Gallager….

Jade: That was Wonderwall, such a classic, gets everyone singing. I have to say though I prefer some of
their songs from the early 2000’s e.g. Stop Crying Your Heart It.

Nostalgia …when Wonderwall is played towards ,,our BA Alex has a story….he was standing outside the
Manchester Apollo in 2009 and he heard them play, walking past from another gig, 90s…Also our producer
Charlotte remembers her first concert seeing Sclub 7, everyones got to live a bit of Sclub!

Jade: later on we’ll talk to a local DJ who makes a living from playing those songs from the 90s….
Callum: First, live in the studio, is Paul Tyler, he is approaching 40 and His production partner Jonny and him
used to present the Radio Academy Production Award nominated The Reading Room.
LIVE INTERVIEW (5:00): Jade: Paul if we went back to the 90s what did you look like?
Paul and things that you want to forget from the 90’s?
Callum: As a radio presenter, you must constantly be reminded of the 90’s era? What do you love about the
nineties? How does it differ?
Callum: How has radio changed over the decades?
Jade: Are there any 90’s musicians who you just love?
Callum: What would you say is your favourite 90’s song? Do you think that the music is better now then
it was in the 90’s?

Callum: Where did your love for music originate from?
