EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED: (Note: The examples of work as listed in this class specification are not necessarily descriptive of any one position in the class. Examples of work performed are not to be used for allocation purposes.) Plans the scope and detail of complex museum exhibits, displays and productions. Paints exhibit backgrounds; sculptures and molds in several media such as metal and stone and prepares necessary components for larger exhibits. Produces realistic graphic illustrations for museum panels, specimen cases, and brochures with a high degree of scientific and/or historical accuracy. Prepares perspective renderings in pastels, water colors, pencil, or ink from geometric design plans. Plans and prepares pictorial posters, illustrations and publication covers, using both free hand and mechanical methods. Recommends to faculty and other museum staff members the most effective types of visual displays available. Specifies kinds of type; scales pictures and art work for reproductions. Performs related work as required. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Two years of experience in commercial art or museum art work.
