Housing Request Form
COINED, our partner organization, can arrange for participants to live in a private or shared room with an
Argentinean host family or in a student residence. Participants should recognize that a certain degree of flexibility
will be required to adjust to Argentinean customs and way of life. They should also take note that living standards in
Argentina are generally lower than in the United States.
Living with a host family is a very effective way to become fully immersed in the language and the Argentinean
culture. Families belong to the Argentinean middle class. Participants can also live in a student residence. Family
homes are located in neighborhoods near the center of the cities, whereas student residences are located closer to the
center of the cities. Public transportation is good and easily accessible in both cities. Buses in both cities run
frequently, and Buenos Aires also has a subway system.
In all housing options, students will share the bathroom1 and kitchen with members of the family or other
students. There are various meal options of no meals, only breakfast, or half board (breakfast and dinner) at an
extra cost. Please refer to the chart below for the meal options specific to each housing option.
