There is no earnestness. *We seek the wrong object. B. God’s Grace Is For the Seeing Heart 5-6 *Look earnestly…Look expectantly… *What are you seeking? Where are you looking? C. God’s Grace Is For the Safe Heart 7 *A fool tries to save himself or herself. *Praise the Lord, ‘I can’t’…He will have to… You’ve played the fool. Would you like to turn your cave into a cathedral? II. PRAISE THE LORD FOR GOD’S GOODNESS 34:8-10 A. God’s Goodness Is For Those Who Taste 8a *God is good! *Only those who taste and see can give this report! B. God’s Goodness Is For Those Who Trust 8b *Too many are running to Gath only to find you have lost your freedom! *Rest your weight on Him! Take refuge in Him! C. God’s Goodness Is For Those Who Tremble 9 *Realize the power and position and then give Him His proper dues. *They who seek the Lord shall not lack…He will do it! You’ve played the fool. Would you like to turn your cave into a cathedral? III. PRAISE THE LORD FOR GOD’S GUIDANCE 34:11-17 A. Take Heed To Your Words 13 *Watch your words! *He is turning a cave into a cathedral. B. Take Heed To Your Walk 14 *There are some places a believer should not go. *Seek…pursue...peace with God and others. C. Take Heed To Your Works 15-16 *God sees what you do and hears what you say. *That is a terrific truth to everyone who is doing and saying the things that please God. *v. 17 note: all your troubles You’ve played the fool. Would you like to turn your cave into a cathedral? IV. PRAISE THE LORD FOR GOD’S GOAL 34:18-22 A. God’s Presence 18a Be near me when I hurt. *The Lord is near when I hurt! B. God’s Provision 18b Save me when crushed in spirit. *I am so weak! C. God’s Power 19 Deliver me out of them all. *Note…not from but out of them all *v. 21 that which is evil is God’s business…evil will catch its victims D. God’s Plan 22 Guarantee my safe arrival. *This isn’t all there is! *The cave is not the end (vss. 1-3) How can we turn a cave into a cathedral? Bless the Lord…we must live to bless Him! I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the Lord; the humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together.
