Working in partnership with other local groups and Haringey Council through its 40:20 initiative, we aim to: reduce carbon emissions, especially from homes cut waste encourage local sustainable food growing and consumption promote sustainable transport Our projects En10ergy is a local social enterprise founded by Muswell Hill Sustainability Group to promote and invest in community-owned renewable energy and energy efficiency projects. We have installed solar photovoltaic panels on Marks & Spencer on Muswell Hill Broadway and Muswell Hill Methodist Church. These generate both electricity and an income to fund our carbon reduction work. 100 Homes helps householders take practical steps to make their homes more energy efficient. We offer advice on carbon footprinting, run workshops on draughtproofing skills, and enable local residents to share recommendations of trusted installers of energy-saving measures and renewables. In February 2013 we ran our first 21st Century Homes event: a conference, exhibition and home visits event to showcase best local practice. Low Carbon Buying Group A bulk-purchasing scheme for Muswell Hill Sustainability Group members offering 10% discounts on energy-saving measures and renewable energy products. Waste We are working to cut waste by supporting Sustainable Haringey’s regular ‘Compost Giveaway’ events offering free garden compost made from local food waste. We’ve also run campaigns to lobby local supermarkets to cut packaging waste, and reduce plastic bag use. www.mhsgroup.org For more information: Visit our website at www.mhsgroup.org Write to us at info@mhsgroup.org A Muswell Hill Green Home Join us today New members are always welcome.
