Hispanic Neuropsychological Society Grant Application Form The Mentoring Committee of the Hispanic Neuropsychological Society (HNS) is accepting proposals for a small monetary award (maximum of $250) to support graduate students of HNS. The award can be used to off-set costs for the following: travel to conferences, student research that addresses cross-cultural issues in neuropsychology that involve Hispanics, and for clinical materials needed for evaluation of Hispanics (i.e. Spanish language testing materials). The award is limited to graduate students who are student affiliate members of HNS. Winners and their projects will be announced on website. A student can re-apply in consecutive cycles, but each person is only allowed to win once. There are two deadlines each year: February 1st and August 1st. Along with the HNS application below, interested individuals should submit the following in electronic format: 1. One page description of how the money will be used and how this supports your development as a psychologist that serves Hispanics or addresses cross-cultural issues that involve Hispanics 2. CV 3. Write out budget here: Grant Application Letter Writing Guidelines Applicant, please notify the sponsor who will write a letter for your HNS grant application to include the following information: The first line of the letter should state why this sponsor is writing the letter. For example, if the applicant is doing research, a research mentor should write the letter. How long has the sponsor known the applicant? How would the sponsor characterize the applicant’s involvement in addressing Hispanic neuropsychological issues? How would the sponsor rate the applicant’s overall ability to perform as a student of neuropsychology? Include and describe any qualities of the applicant and/or project that are relevant to the application and support this applicant receiving the award.
