‘Thinking Like A Herbalist' A Course in Herbal Medicine Part One Starts May 30th 2015 This introductory course is ideal for budding herbalists, or indeed anyone who would like to learn more about herbs, herbal medicine and health with guidance and support from a qualified herbalist. 'Echinacea is good for colds'. This is how many people tend to think about herbs. But this approach is really only half the story. This course will help you think differently about health, to 'think like a herbalist', and learn to apply herbs for everyday ailments. There will be a mix of theory, and practical demonstrations of making herbal medicines, with remedies to take home. The aim is to help you: gain confidence in using herbal remedies safely develop herbal skills, such as understanding root causes learn strategies and remedies for treating and preventing some common conditions gain an understanding of how herbal medicines work find out how easy making your own herbal medicine is gain a greater understanding of how to create health This is a stand-alone course, or can be followed with Part Two which will run twice in 2015, once in the summer and again in the autumn. How to harvest and prepare herbal medicines. Includes tinctures, salves, and infused oils. Make a calendula tincture. 31st May 2.30-7pm Looking at key areas of health: Nutrition, sleep, stress, vitality and fatigue, and the use of herbs, diet and lifestyle here. Herb tastings. Make herbal green drink powders. Holistic Health Seasonal Wellness. Sat June 6th 10-5pm Kitchen Pharmacy & First Aid.
