Parent Payments
We will soon be moving over to online payments for school meals, trips and events which should make it easier for parents
to keep track of what is due and also will eradicate the need for lots of paper permission slips, receipts and statements.
Look out for more information after half term and we will “go live!” in January.
Make A Noise About Bullying
After the great success of ‘No Outsiders, No Bystanders Week’, a week dedicated to celebrating diversity and teaching
our children how to stand up for their own rights and the rights of others assertively and positively, we are really looking
forward to Anti-Bullying Week running from Monday 16th till Friday 20th November.
The key aims will be to continue to empower and unite our children to ‘make a noise about bullying!’ whether it is
happening to them or to someone else, face to face or online and to raise awareness of the impact of bullying with an
emphasis on mental health.
Edu-Cake and Cel-a-Bake!
Missing The Great British Bake Off? Don’t worry! We invite all you budding bakers out there to join THE GREAT
RAINBOW BAKE OFF! As part of our Anti-Bullying Week, we will like many other schools nationwide, be taking part in
Educate and Celebrate’s exciting baking competition. This means that you have the whole of half term to get creative in
the kitchen to practise your winning cake, cupcakes or biscuits with a colourful, loud rainbow theme! Anti-bullying
messages are encouraged! The competition will be judged on Thursday 19th November PM and winners will be announced
during Friday’s Star of the Week Assembly. The cakes will then be on sale after school on Friday 20 th as our AntiBullying Week finale! Your tasty entries should be handed into the school office on Wednesday 18th November or
Thursday 19th November AM at the very latest in a labelled, air-tight container. 3-2-1…BAKE!
Celebrating Black History Month
Time has been set aside in every class this month to celebrate the achievements of black men and women past and
present. The children have had opportunities to discuss issues of discrimination and learn about positive role models who
have stood up for the rights of black people.
Thoughts from Year 6: ‘Black History Month is a good thing because it reminds us of what we did and how we should
never, ever do something like it again. It really has encouraged me to stand up for people who are lost and bullied.
Discrimination is an absolutely vile thing!’
‘It’s wrong to discriminate because everyone has the same rights. It inspires me to have the courage to support people
who aren’t being treated right.’
Spooky but Safe
A message from Essex County Fire & Rescue Service:
“It’s far safer to use flickering LED candles than real candles. Make sure that fancy dress costumes and masks are
labelled as flame resistant. Don’t use flammable materials to make homemade costumes, be especially careful about using
bin liners as capes. Keep children away from naked flames and don’t let them carry lit candles or lanterns with a real
candle in them”

School Crossing Patrol
Can parents please be advised that children should not be riding their bikes/scooters across the road where the crossing
patrol is. Children should walk them across the road with their parents, no children should cross the road without an
adult. Thank you
