Arthurian Legend Research Project
King Arthur was a significant figure in the Middle Ages. To aid in our understanding of
Arthurian Legend, you will research various aspects of medieval life and culture. In groups of no more than three, you will be responsible for developing a presentation to share your research findings with the class.
Once you have a topic, your group should begin by filling out the NTHS Research Planner
(this is available on the LRC website and may be filled out on-line and printed). This should be completed and turned in by the end of class on Thursday, April 11.
In the research process, each group member must:
Identify and take notes on at least three sources (these notes will be turned in to me and graded). Please use the forms I provide for your notes.
Create an MLA format Works Cited entry for each of your sources. You should use an internet site to help you format this—easybib.com is a good choice. You can also do this in Word—ask!
Your notes are due to me on at the end of class on Monday, April 15.
Each group must:
Create and present a presentation with important facts from your research. This must be a balance of text and visuals, easy to read, and interesting/artistic in layout.
Powerpoints must be 8-10 slides long.
Each group member must participate equally in the presentation of your information to the class. You will be assessed on participation. Your presentation should be 5-10 minutes in length.
Your final slide must be an MLA Works Cited page for your entire group
If a member of your group is not working cooperatively, you need to see me early in the process so I can intervene. Telling me after it’s over with isn’t really productive.
Presentations should be e-mailed to me at swhite@nthurston.k12.wa.us by the beginning of class on Thursday, April 18.
Things to know:
We will be in the LRC and the computer lab for one week (April 11-17). Please use your time effectively and efficiently.
Presentations begin on Thursday, April 18. Be ready!
Assessment:
You will be assessed individually on your research process (notes and Works Cited page).
You will receive a group grade for your presentation. Remember—all members must participate equally in this part. Please be prepared for your presentation.
