Contest Categories: Contesting is optional. However, exhibitors must compete in all but one of the following contests to be
considered for the overall awards:
Cattleman’s Quiz / Showmanship / Skill-A-Thon / Public Speaking
Please Note: Your age on January 1, 2015 determines in which division you will compete.
Novice Division: Contestants 7 years and under who have not reached their 8th birthday prior to January 1, 2015, must
compete in the Novice Division. There will be a showmanship class for this division. An adult or Junior member
may help the contestant. However, novice members may not exhibit cattle in the show.
Junior Division: Contestants must be 8 years old on or before January 1, 2015, and must not have
reached their 14th birthday prior to January 1, 2015.
Intermediate Division: Contestants must 14 years old as of January 1, 2015 and must not have
reached their 18th birthday prior to January 1, 2015.
Senior Division: Contestants must be 18 years old as of January 1, 2015 and must not have reached
their 22nd birthday prior to January 1, 2015.
Cattle Classes:
Heifers—Born 9/1/13 to 12/31/14
Purebred & Percentage
Entry Fee:
$25.00/calf Pre-entry (pre-entry closes March 31, 2015)
$50.00/calf Day of show
Steers—Born on or after 1/1/14
Must be at least 50% Simmental
All cattle must have registration papers, Premise ID and be tagged with RFID tag.
General Rules:
 Contestants must be current member of IJSA. If dues were not paid at HBC, $10 may be sent with registration or paid
on day of show.
 Class size will not exceed 10 head.
 No artificial tailheads or leg hair, tail switches or cosmetic alterations. All violators will be disqualified.
 No artificial filling of cattle will be allowed on the fairgrounds. No pumps will be allowed on the fairgrounds. All
violators will be disqualified.
 If attending Carroll County’s Indiana’s Finest Show on Saturday; tie-outs inside trailer only. Absolutely no tie-outs to
side of trailers will be allowed.
 Generators encouraged. Bark bedding is provided in Cattle Barn. No bedding is provided in any other barn. No straw
allowed in any of the barns.
 A $25 deposit (separate check) will be charged to stall outside the barn. This will be returned when area is cleared of
straw and debris (including all trash) and upon inspection by a committee member.
 NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ACCIDENTS, THEFTS, OR LOSSES.
 NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED ON FAIRGROUNDS.
 There will be a concession stand open for the show.
 Sinnamon Show Supply will have supplies available on show day.

