COME JOIN THE FUN. RULES ARE SIMPLE:







Steak Entries are $100 per entry. You may enter one (1) additional steak for $50.
Dessert entries are $25 per entry. You may enter a second dessert for $15
Bloody Mary entries are $5 per entry. Only one (1) entry is allowed per team.
Each team will be responsible for supplying their electricity, ice, drinks, and water.
All entry fees must be paid by event date to the rodeo office.
Spaces will be approximately 20’ x 20’ located on the PLS&R grounds.
Any pit, grill, fryer, or oven will be allowed to prepare your entry. Desserts should be prepared at
home and brought to the grounds. We will provide the containers for turn-in.
Check-in will be on Saturday, July 19th, 2014 between 8:00am and 10:00am
Cooks meeting will be Saturday, July 19th, 2014 at 10:15 am.
Bloody Mary’s will be judged at your spot beginning at 10:30am (or as soon at the cooks meeting ends).
Dessert turn in will be at 11:15am and judging will be at 11:30am
Steak turn in will be at 12:30 pm and judging will be at 12:40pm.
Entries will be as follows:










Each contestant will cook (1) one steak per turn in.
No entry will be accepted more than 10 minutes prior to turn in time.
Only rib eye steaks will be accepted.
All entries must be at least ¾ inch thick and no more than 1 inch thick.
All steaks must be cooked MEDIUM.
No sauces of any kind maybe used after steaks are cooked.
DO NOT CUT YOUR STEAK.
Dessert can be your choice of any scrumptious, sweet, mouth-watering treat.
Please keep in mind PLS&R does not have storage for cold desserts. You will be responsible to
keep your desserts cold.
Bloody Mary’s will be mixed on site and you will provide your own glasses for judges (4).
Containers will be provided by PLS&R for steaks and desserts. There will be 6 judges for each category,
except the Bloody Mary category in which there will be 4 judges.
Judging will be in an open format for all to see for steaks and desserts. Bloody Mary judging will be done
at your spot.
Awards will be Saturday at 1:00





Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place steak.
A cash prize of $500 will be awarded for 1st place and $250 for 2nd place.
A special award for the best dessert along with a cash prize*, and recognition for 2nd, and 3rd.
Trophy for 1st place Bloody Mary only.
A showmanship trophy will be awarded.
* Amount of cash award will be determined by number of dessert entries received.
