Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education,
Special Education, Middle Level, and Business
Technology Education Candidates

The scholarship amounts may range from $75 to $1500 per term.

ELIGIBILITY FOR SCHOLARSHIPS
Your application will be considered for all Teachers College, Henderson scholarships
awarded based on the following eligibility and submission requirements:
1. Completed scholarship application
2. Teacher Education Program Admission Letter
3. Copy of unofficial transcript showing major in early childhood, middle level,
or business technology education.
4. Current overall GPA of 2.75 or higher
5. Essay (approximately 200 words) regarding interest in the profession and your
major field and financial need. In addressing financial need, include other
financial resources that you have for the upcoming academic year. Please
contact financial aid to determine any scholarship impact on your
overall student aid package. PROOFREAD CAREFULLY AND HAVE
YOUR ESSAY REVIEWED BY WRITING CENTER.
6. Two letters of recommendation (one must be from a faculty member in your
major field). Writer may send letters to Mrs. Golden, Box 7770, on campus.
7. Three copies of materials must be submitted; you must make your own
copies. Copies will not be made for you.
All application materials must be submitted to Mrs. Golden in
EDC 247 by Friday, MAY 1, 2015, at 5 p.m.
Note: You must be enrolled full-time (12 or more hours) in order to keep the
scholarships. Payment of one half of scholarship will be awarded in the fall
2015 semester. The necessary grade point average must be maintained in
order to receive the remaining one half of the scholarship in spring 2016.
Fall 2015 interns may apply for fall only awards. If the recipient
withdraws from, or leaves Henderson State University during the normal
refund period of the university, the unused portion of the scholarship will be
returned to scholarship fund. Please contact financial aid to determine
the impact of scholarships on your overall student aid package.
